Please keep up with the pace of play. At the request of either coach, at any time in the game, a 4 minute timer may be used and implemented on the game.
Normal resurrection rules are in effect – no SPP recorded, injuries do not carry over between games
If a new team or rules clarification is released within 30 days of the tourney, it will not be incorporated into these rules.
We will use the normal weather and kickoff tables. Each table will roll their own weather.
Only GW or NAF block dice will be allowed. You are required to use the D6 dice you will receive as part of your swag bag at registration. You are required to share dice if your opponent requests.
Team Building Rules
You will be given varying GP and SPP to build your roster depending on your tier below. You may spend SPP according to the rulebook, but no random skills or characteristics are allowed.
Tier 1: 1100k & 36 spp – Lizardmen, Shambling Undead, Dark Elves, Skaven, Amazons, Wood Elves
Tier 2: 1110 & 42 spp – Orcs, Norse, Underworld Denizens, Vampires, Dwarves
Tier 3: 1120 & 50 spp – High Elves, Tomb Kings, Slann, Necromantic Horror, Humans
Tier 4: 1130 & 56 spp – Elven Union, Khorne, Old World Alliance, Imperial Nobility, Chaos Dwarves
Tier 5: 1140 & 64 spp – Black Orcs, Chaos Chosen, Chaos Renegades, Nurgle
Tier 6: 1150 & 70 spp – Goblins, Ogres, Halflings, Snotlings, Gnomes
You are allowed to take up to two extra skills on the same player. You are only allowed to “stack” on 1 player for tiers 1-2, on 2 players for tiers 3-4, and 3 players tiers 5-6.
Unspent gold and star player points are lost.
You have to field 11 players before hiring a star player.
You can’t choose more than 4 from the same skill while spending star player points. If your team already has at least 4 from the same skill after buying your players (including star players) but before spending your skill points, you CAN’T have more of that skill. (Example: a dark elf coach bought 4 blitzers and 2 witch elves. They can’t give out more than two Dodge skills, and cannot give out any additional Block).
You are not allowed to purchase bribes if your team adds either the Sneaky Git or Dirty Player skills as extra skills (or a star with either of those skills) to the roster.
The following star players are banned and cannot be hired by either team: Morg, Griff, Skitter, Hakflem, Bomber, Cindy, Zzharg, Estelle, Dribl & Drull, Deeproot, Kreek, Varag , Hthark, Jordell, Anqi Panqi, Jeremiah Kool, Swiftvine, Maple, Guffle
List of Eligible Inducements: Bloodweiser Keg, Mortuary Assistant, Plague Doctor, Wandering Apothecary, Team Mascot, Josef Bugman, Bribe, Master Chef, Riotous Rookies.
Optional Packs (May Choose One):
“Quantity over Quality” – you can exchange 2 spp for 10k gold up to five times (gaining you a maximum of 50k gold for 10 spp).
“Training Camp” – gain an extra 6 spp for 30k in gold. If you choose this pack, you are only allowed to “stack” on 1 less player than described above based on your tier (Example: High Elves may only stack on 1 of their players).
“Center of Attention” – your team can hire star players but lose 8 spp for star players costing up to 120k, 14 spp for star players costing 121k-260k, and 20 spp for star players costing more than 260k.
Scoring:
During each round, you will fill out a score sheet to track your progress. At the end of the match, you will add up the scoring as follows:
• A WIN is 60 points
• A DRAW is 30 points
• A LOSS is 10 points
• If you lose by 1 TD, you earn +2 bonus points
• If you cause 1 more CAS that would generate SPP than your opponent, you earn +2 bonus points
• If you caused 2 or more CAS that would generate SPP than your opponent, you earn +5 bonus points (does not stack with the +2)
• If you win by 2 Touchdowns you earn +2 bonus points
• If you win by 3 Touchdowns or more you earn +5 bonus points (does not stack with the +2)
• There is no championship game, the standings will solely be determined by total points. In the case of a tie, head to head results will be taken into account, including bonus points against that opponent, followed by strength of schedule (total points earned by all opponents), followed by a coin flip.
Painting & Sportsmanship:
• All teams are expected to meet minimum painted guidelines, they must have 3 colors on them and have some attempt at making them appear finished. If you need to borrow a team to complete this requirement, please reach out to the TO.
• We are all here to enjoy the game of Blood Bowl. We expect good sportsmanship. Please note that fouling 16 turns in a row and running up the score is not poor sportsmanship. Gloating and ridiculing your opponent while doing so is.
Awards:
In order to qualify for an award, you must compete all three rounds of play. Coaches will only be eligible for one award, and the TO will trickle-down an award to the next eligible player, with the exception of the best painted award.
• Champion – most tourney points.
• Runner-UP – second most tourney points
• Best Offense – most TDs scored
• Best Defense – fewest TDs scored against you
• Most Brutal – most casualties that would generate SPP
• Wooden Spoon – fewest tourney points.
• Best Painted – as decided by the participants of the event. The TO will break ties. To be eligible, you must have painted the team yourself.
