Event Rules
Team Draft:
Draft your team as per the rules in Spike issue 22 but instead of 4 positionals you can take 5!
Skill Selection:
As per the Matched Play section of Spike 22, all teams will be allocated a number of Skill Points equal to their tier, with one extra as it's Christmas! (included below)
- Tier 1: 2 Skill points
- Tier 2: 3 Skill points
- Tier 3: 4 Skill points
- Tier 4: 5 Skill Points
Notes:
- Purchasing a Primary Skill for a player will cost 1 Skill Point. There is no limit to the number of Primary Skills a team can purchase, so long as they have Skill Points remaining, of course.
- Purchasing a Secondary Skill for a player will cost 2 Skill Points. However, a team can only ever purchase a single Secondary Skill for their team, regardless of if they have enough Skill Points remaining. Such Skills are rare enough in proper Blood Bowl, let alone in Blood Bowl Sevens!
- Each player can only be given a maximum of one additional Skill, though there is no limit to the number of times a particular Skill can be chosen. The only exception to this is when it comes to Elite Skills, where only a maximum of two extra Elite Skills (of any combination) can be taken in a Matched Play roster.
- It's important to note that, unlike in League Play, Skills purchased for players in Matched Play do not add to a player's Current Value and as a result, the team's value will not increase.
Scoring:
Coaches are ranked according to the number of Tournament Points they have. Tiebreakers are as follows:
- Bonus Points > TD Difference > TDs > Casualties
Coaches will earn:
- 3 Tournament Points for a win
- 1 Tournament Point for a draw
- 0 Tournament Points for a loss
Bonus points (used as first tiebreaker):
- Scoring 3 or more Touchdowns - 1 Bonus Point
- Conceding 0 Touchdowns - 1 Bonus Point
- Inflicting 3 or more Casualties (all casualties count regardless of the source, if it's in your Dead and Injured box your opponent scores it!) - 1 Bonus Point
Christmas Rules!
Snowball Bombs!
At the start of each drive, give one player a Snowball-Bomb token. While that player has the token they may use the Throw Bomb special action. Once the player has thrown their bomb, remove the token. (The token will be in your Swag Bag - we recommend you have someone with a decent passing ability to make the most of it!)
Doughnald Star Player!
Each player will receive a "Doughnald Star Player" - he's not a part of your roster and is set up every drive regardless of how many times he's been reduced to a pile of crumbs! There will be a prize for the most Doughnald Casualties!
Bob's Been Baking Bingo!
A special edition of the "Bob Bifford's Blood Bowl Bingo", themed around Doughnald! The first player to complete the bingo sheet wins the Big Bob medal!
Awards
In addition to the usual array of awards we give out, there will be also be the following:
- Most Doughnald's Killed
- Best Christmas Jumper
