At its core the tournament rules will follow current NAF guidance for all NAF tournaments. Any changes made to these guidelines between now and the deadline stated above will be incorporated into the tournament rules, with notifications posted on the event Facebook page.
Doonhamer Bowl is a resurrection style tournament. This means that all rosters will be reset after each round. Your players will not gain any SPP throughout the matches, no casualties will continue into the next match and you will not earn any additional income after matches.
Doonhamer Bowl will be using the NAF World Cup 27 Malta ruleset. Any changes to the ruleset after the 1st March 2027 will not be implemented for Doonhamer Bowl.
Rosters have to be submitted onto ScoreBB no later than 2359 on Friday 26th March 2027.
Each team has a specific Gold Budget based on their tier to spend on roster creation and must hire a minimum of 11 regular players including any Star Players. Any gold or SPP unspent at roster creation is permanently lost.
Teams are separated into tiers that dictate both their starting Gold and their SPP budget for purchasing skills. (Breakdown can be found in the linked rules pack.)
Undead, Necromantic, and Nurgle teams may apply the Masters of Undeath and Plague Ridden rules, but any players added to the roster during a game are removed at the end of the match. All teams are considered to have the exact same Current Team Value (CTV) for the purpose of Prayers to Nuffle.
You must spend your allocated SPP budget to purchase skills. Random skills and characteristic improvements are strictly forbidden.
Certain exceptionally powerful skills are designated as Elite Skills. Purchasing an Elite skill costs an additional 2 SPP on top of the base cost listed above. There are no restrictions on the total number of Elite skills your team can take, provided you have the SPP budget to afford them.
One Star Player can be induced only by teams marked accordingly on the Tier list. Star Players count towards the minimum of 11 rostered players required.
Banned Star Players (Cannot be hired by any team): Cindy Piewhistle, Griff Oberwald, Ivar Eriksson, Jordell Freshbreeze, Maple Highgrove, Scyla Anfigrimm, Skrorg Snowpelt, Swiftvine Glimmershard, and Thorsson Stoutmead.
Welcome to the Blood Bowl World Cup 2027 draft ruleset. This is a resurrection tournament played by squads; no Star Player Points (SPP) are gained through gameplay, and any injuries, casualties, or deaths do not carry over to the next game.
Coaches will be awarded points for their individual games as follows:
Tiebreakers:
These are purchased using your starting GP allowance.
Each round will be 2 hours and 15 minutes. There will be a hard dice down. The TO will be shouting time remaining throughout the round. If a coach requests to use a chess clock then his opponent must accept the use. It is recommended that one is used at the start of the game to be fair. If a player has run out of time on his clock and his opponent still has time then the player who has run out of time is only allowed to stand up prone players on his turn. When the TO shouts dice down the game ends immediately and you must record your score as it is at that point.
The stalling rules found on page 80 of the Season 3 edition rulebook will be in force for this tournament.
If the highest ranked stunty player finishes in the top 3 then the next highest ranked stunty player will win the Stunty Cup. Apart from Best Painted, you can only win one trophy.
Venue Address: Lochabriggs Village Hall Dumfries, DG1 1QE
For parking look for Blanc Space which is a 2 minute walk from the venue. This is free parking, and please use here as the venue is in the middle of a residential area and we don't want to upset the local residents.
There is a Spar convenience store, and a chip shop less than a 5 minute walk from the venue, a Tesco petrol station with a larger selection of food and drink a 5 minute drive away, and a KFC and McDonald's about a 10 minute drive from the venue, so there are plenty of options for the 1 hour lunch break.
If you are unsure on where to go, please ask the TO or any attendees wearing a Dumfries Gamers top and they will happily help you on where to go and answer any questions you may have.
