Season's greetings, fans of our favorite drug, Blood Bowl. As every year, Santa Furbby and Klaus Kinkywynky, together with our trusty Rudolph Mushashi, bring you the strangest, least prestigious, and most hilarious tournament of the holidays, the Jinggle Balls.
As every year, to cheer you up after seeing so much family and socializing so much (we all know we hate it), Santa rewards us with the bizarre tournament you love so much. And as you know, Santa doesn't come alone, but in bad company!
As you already know, the tournament will take place on December 27, 2025 (yes, we're the last of the year, as in life). [Notice: there is a possibility of the date changing to December 19 for reasons external to the organization, though this is remote.]
Venue to be confirmed.
We will try to finish before 20:00, since we want to go home and cry soon, as our life is very hard.
Players must bring block dice, D8, D16, a PITCH (very important, we don't have many; if a match has no pitch, it will be conceded) and miniatures. A pair of tournament D6 will be provided, which must be used with priority. Tournament dice, or dice from previous tournaments, ARE MANDATORY FOR USE. If the organization receives complaints or sees that other dice are being used, the match will be conceded. We will be very strict.
Except in cases of extreme emergency, if you miss the payment deadline you don't play. If you miss the roster deadline, you will likewise be expelled from the tournament with no right to a refund and without receiving any prize or dice.
The cost of the tournament will be 15 euros.
The payment includes dice for all players, trophies and, depending on how many we are, more or less prizes. Following the inclusive spirit of the tournament, and the limited number of people who fit, we have decided to reduce the prizes to a minimum and lower the price a lot. Everything is going up lately, and unfortunately, so are we. Costs are eating us up.
The way to sign up is simple:
According to what has been agreed by the association of tournament organizers of Catalunya, the tournament will be governed by the following registration rules:
Registrations will be formalized by payment of the tournament fee. This means that pre-registration lists will no longer exist, and that the order of registrations will be based on the payment date. The forum will record the name or Nick of the person making the payment, as well as the date it was made.
If the registered person is ultimately unable to attend the tournament, they will still have the right to receive the tournament gifts (dice, etc.) as well as to participate in the raffles. Under no circumstances will the amount paid be refunded, unless the reason is considered force majeure, which must be handled on a case-by-case basis, with the organizer's decision being final.
Paying the tournament fee does not guarantee participation in the tournament. For that, the roster must be sent within the established deadlines. Failure to do so will mean non-participation in the tournament, as well as loss of registration. The tournament will be managed using Tourplay.
The link to the tournament's Tourplay page is the following:
[*]
It is important to stress that the Tourplay account must be verified with NAF. This is very simple and saves a lot of work time when uploading the tournament. To do this, simply go to your Tourplay profile and click to verify your account with NAF. You must log in to your NAF account, and in this way it will remain verified forever. If you have problems with the NAF page, make sure that your NAF Nick and NAF number that appear on your Tourplay profile are correct, every letter, number, and punctuation mark.
Tournament dice are mandatory for use. You may also use dice from previous tournaments (Jinggle Balls and Malapell).
Payment can be made via Bizum to 606257018 (preferred) or in person to Furbby, if he accepts it. The payment subject must read "Jingle Balls V+Nick". If you don't include the subject, we cannot guarantee registration.
Registration is not completed until payment is made (if you upload your team before paying, it will be deleted). Spots are not reserved for pre-registered players, so until you pay, we will only count you to calculate spots. Once we have confirmation of the exact number, we will announce it. There will be a minimum of 16 people to hold the tournament and a maximum of 32 people, which, in principle, we cannot expand. If the minimum is not reached, the money will be refunded.
There will be a list of registered players to prevent anyone from paying if there are no spots left. If someone still does so, they should contact Furbby and will be refunded if they can prove payment. There will be no other reason for refund, except for force majeure. If on the morning of the tournament you decide not to come, the money will not be refunded.
Likewise, if due to human error someone is not included in the registered list after payment (with a reasonable margin of time), notify the organization through the same phone number so it can be corrected. In the event that spots fill up, those who pay but are not included in the list due to human error and did not say anything will receive a refund of their payment, but will not have a guaranteed spot in the tournament.
If there is an individual withdrawal, it must be communicated as soon as possible so that the person can be replaced. The registration fee will not be refunded, but a set of dice will be assigned to the absent player as long as it is duly communicated with reasonable time. Priority to replace will be given to pre-registered players over "looners" (i.e., we will only bother to look for a replacement for those who indicated they wanted to come and were left out). If there is no immediate response to replace the teammate, we will move heaven, earth, and Terrassa (which is worse than hell ;) ) to find someone.
The rules used will be the current ones, Blood Bowl 2025 (Season 3), together with the Spikes that are published from now on. Necromancer, Undead, Vampire, and Nurgle teams will be able to raise dead players when they cause casualties to their opponent, obtaining an extra player for that single match as established in the Blood Bowl 2025 manual.
All team miniatures must be appropriate or conversions of others, but always representative of their position. There will be no penalties for unpainted teams, as long as both players are clear about everything and it does not lead to confusion.
Only official teams recognized by the NAF may be used.
The tournament will be played using the Tourplay app, and it will be the players' responsibility to upload the teams and post the results. The Tourplay roster will be the valid one. All players must ensure that the roster on Tourplay is correct, and in case of error, the organization will require that the correct roster be played. For safety. This decision is final.
Santa's Bigger Helper
Ho Ho Hoes, MF!!! Santa Claus has come early, he has already arrived at our homes. And he comes with gifts for the bad players, but also with punishments for the good children!
That's why Santa doesn't come alone. Since we have been very bad boys, Santa has had to bring his helpers to carry so much coal, and some of them have decided to stay and play Blood Bowl!
All teams will be REQUIRED to hire a Star Player with a cost greater than 100k.
But it's not that easy. Not all Star Players want to play for people as bad as us. Therefore, the Star Players on the following list are forbidden for all tiers except tier 6:
The "winner's rule": the Star Player used by last year's winner is completely forbidden, so you can't copy his list, you little cheaters. Consequently, Rumbellow Sheepskin cannot be played.
IMPORTANT! We know not everyone has as many Star Player miniatures as we crazy people do, so almost complete freedom will be given to proxy the Star Players. As long as it is recognizable which Star Player it is and minimally who it is, the proxy will be accepted. The goal is for you to play what you never play, so we will put 0 objections.
Second Star Player: all teams may freely choose a second Star Player, respecting the prohibitions.
Teams will receive gold coins depending on the Tier in which the chosen race is, to create the team and acquire inducements. The money left over after team creation will not be taken into account for inducements or Prayers to Nuffle purposes, with all teams being considered to have the same value.
All teams must have a minimum of 11 players (+ Star Player) and a maximum of 16 players.
You must have 11 players on the team before acquiring a Star Player.
If both teams field the same Star Player, both may use them.
With the money received, you can also acquire RR (re-rolls), assistant coaches, cheerleaders, doctor, fan factor, referees, etc.
Elite skills: each team may assign as elite skills a maximum of half of the skills available in its tier (rounding down). For example, if a tier has 4 primary skills, only 2 may be elite. Likewise, if a tier has 3 primary skills and 2 secondary skills, the limit will still be 2 elite skills.
Likewise, the Leader skill will be considered an elite skill. This will be manually checked once rosters are published, so teams that include it must count it within their available elite skills limit.
Skills cannot be stacked except in tiers 5 and 6, where only two skills can be stacked on one player. Secondary skills cannot be stacked or substituted with primary skills.
All teams may acquire any inducement as long as it is permitted for their race according to the most up-to-date manual, with the following exceptions:
Inducements NOT permitted: mercenaries, wizards, or cards, except those explicitly permitted. Death Zone inducements and any published as of the publication date of these rules are permitted.
Here it is explained how the scoring system will work at the event. This will be the factor that decides who will be the champion. Both teams and players will be ranked using these factors: Tournament points, Opponents' points, Weighting (Touchdown difference (scored - conceded) x 2) + casualty difference (caused - received), Touchdowns scored, casualties caused, fouls committed.
The tournament points system is as follows:
If there are Byes, we're sorry, but to maintain the integrity of the tournament, byes will be recorded. It's the small price to pay to fully comply with the rules. This does not mean that, if possible, the organization will try to avoid a player not playing: what will surely happen is that they will win the 3 points they are owed.
All injuries suffered during matches by our team's players, even death, will disappear at the end of each match. In other words, the team is rebuilt. Even so, doctors are useful for recovering injured and even unconscious players during the match.
For the purposes of counting what is considered a "foul", this will be any foul action performed that results in a casualty. Both things must be recorded: casualty and foul.
If there is any discrepancy between the two concepts that is impossible to justify (clear example: more fouls than casualties), all fouls will be deleted.
Let's get to what nobody cares about, but I'm required to include it; There will be the following prizes:
Trophies may be accumulated.
All players must keep in mind that these kinds of events serve to play our favorite game and meet people different from those we usually play with over a weekend. Seeking to be "champions" is a byproduct of this situation, and what is really sought is to enjoy the game. The biggest point of friction is usually the rules, so in case of doubt they will be consulted, and if for some reason the rulebook does not cover a certain aspect, the tournament organizers will always have the final word and players must accept their decisions.
It is the players' responsibility to remember and keep track of the following situations:
Whenever possible, the game will be reverted to the situation or point where the roll was forgotten within the same turn; however, if the situation is detected after a touchdown is scored, the touchdown will be valid for all purposes. If someone does not complain to the organization about any cheating or any other inconvenience at the moment (the moment is understood as any correction required before the next dice roll is made. If dice have already been rolled, you're already too late), it will be considered valid. If you fall asleep and realize six hours later that you've been cheated, tough luck.
Any questions, lack of information, or anything you need, the organization will answer. You all know how to contact us, either because you know us or because this wonderful forum allows us to get in touch. (tip: contact us by other means, we cannot guarantee we will see the forum quickly)
Rules subject to possible minor changes.
