BB2025 (Season 3) rules + NAF recommendations and clarifications + FAQs up to October 2026.
NAF. Swiss format with Resurrection, 4 rounds, no final. Same value for all teams. Matches last a maximum of 2:15, with the 4-minute rule applicable if desired by either coach. If the first hour of play has elapsed and the second half has not yet been reached, then the 4-minute rule (or even shorter) must be applied in order to finish all matches completely. Once time is up, the organizers may stop the match with the current result in order to proceed to the next round.
The first round will be drawn during the week before the event, provided all rosters and payments have been received.
Coaches will have a treasure of gold pieces depending on the chosen Tier to create their rosters; including players, coaching staff, rerolls, apothecary and incentives. All teams will be considered of the same value, so no incentives will be obtained.
Minimum 11 players (not counting Star Player(s)) and maximum 16.
As a result of pillaging and looting, there will be a treasure full of gold pieces to create the roster and skill-ups. The "Pirate Code of Conduct" establishes that the Captain will receive a substantial and improved part of said treasure; the deck officers will also be favored with a larger share, and finally the rest will be distributed among the sailors.
Each team must be led by a fearless player who will be named Pirate Captain, who will be given skills worth a maximum of 60,000 Gold Pieces (being able to obtain either 2 elite primary skills, 1 elite secondary skill, 1 non-elite secondary + 1 non-elite primary, 1 elite primary + 1 normal primary, or 3 non-elite primary skills). Attribute increases are not allowed.
The Pirate Captain for the special tournament rule may, in the case of Humans and Orcs, be different from their team captain with Pro.
In addition, another player will be chosen as the sole deck officer with 50,000 Gold Pieces for primary skills (1 elite primary + 1 normal primary or 2 non-elite primary skills).
Team Tiers and their treasures (aside from what the captain and officer receive):
Banned Mega-Stars list: Griff Oberwald, Hakflem Skuttlespike, H'Thark The Unstoppable, Ivan Deathshroud and Morg 'n' Thorg.
If both opposing teams use the same Star Player, both may still play the match despite the fuss they will make upon realizing it.
Elite skills: Tackle, Dodge, Mighty Blow and Guard.
The value of skills does not increase when several skill-ups occur.
Those allowed per race via the treasure assigned for roster creation. Mercenaries and prayers to Nuffle are not allowed.
The Star Player will be part of all rosters for free, and no other Star Player may be hired for the team unless playing Tier 5.
In case of doubt, the rules will be consulted, and if for any reason they do not cover a particular aspect, the tournament referees will always have the final word and coaches must accept their decisions.
It is the coaches' responsibility to remember and control the following situations:
Whenever possible, the game will return to the situation or point where the roll was forgotten within the same turn; however, if the situation is detected after scoring a touchdown and the players have been picked up, the score will be valid for all purposes.
No player may win more than one prize. If they qualify for several, they will keep the best one and the rest will go to the next in line.
Miniatures must clearly represent their team's race, with positional players clearly distinguishable.
Teams presented fully painted and with positional players clearly distinguishable will get +2 on kick-off events requiring rolls, compared to those that do not.
The first 15 coaches to complete their registration (payment made and roster sent) will be entered into a special raffle for a Lizardmen team from Brutefun Miniatures, including the Star Players Dribl and Drull.
In addition, between rounds 3 and 4, various raffles will be held.
