The TDL XX will take place on the weekend of October 31 & November 1, 2026, at the NORD & SUD halls, rue de la Fraternité, 44390 Nort-sur-Erdre.
The TdL will be NAF-ranked (pending), a stage of the French Championship (individual) and of the Challenge du Grand Ouest.
The Trophée de la Licorne is now free for everyone to enter... if you participate, make yourself heard on FBB in the TdL XX post (indicate your NAF number, a possible roster played... or a challenge).
No prizes, but little unicorns as always and the pleasure of meeting on the field! You'll have to forage for your own food in the wild (there's plenty to find nearby between pizzerias, Kebab, Domino's and McDo). Black Licorne beers will be sold at the bar. No accommodation management provided by us. Various inns a few leagues around (many gites in Nort itself).
The rules used are those of 2025 (Season 3) of Blood Bowl. The TdL is an individual tournament.
You will play 5 matches (Swiss round format, resurrection mode: the whole team comes back in shape for the next match).
Overall budget by tier:
With this budget there is room to acquire some of the usual bonuses accessible depending on the rosters. Warning: a Wizard will be more expensive (200,000 gp instead of his normal price). In addition, the Star Players from the rules will not be used; the team is based on a roster from which a champion will emerge that you will create yourself!
Players on your team (excluding champion) You will assign additional skills to the players of your team: 4 primary skills and 2 secondary skills (the reverse for Stunty teams... so 2 primary & 4 secondary). Each player can only receive one skill. Secondary skills can be converted into primary skills (but not the other way around).
Special case of the vice-champion Unlike other players on the team, the vice-champion (a player on your team who is not your champion) can receive two skills instead of just one (2 primary, or one primary + one secondary, or two secondary). These skills are taken from the additional skills to be distributed in the team. You are absolutely not obliged to create a vice-champion.
Creating the Champion You are beautiful, talented, and charismatic (seriously, don't listen to the other coaches, they're just jealous!)... so you are required to create a champion, paid for from your team creation budget. You select a position from your roster that will serve as the basis for creating your champion (line player, positional, or even a Big Guy... it's up to you, but you pay his cost...). This star then receives none of the additional free skills (given to the team's players) but he can receive 4 options from the list below; each option can only be acquired once, except for the primary skill.
Enjoy yourself:
First layer!
Second layer! You select two different options among these 4 possibilities:
The Champion, before gaining options, starts with a 'Loner' skill at 4+ and if you select anything other than a primary or secondary skill, the value of this Loner increases by 1 (the max score will therefore be 6+).
List from which you can select a Trait to place on your Champion:
No special preparation cards.
Slightly modified kick-off table The result of 6 on the usual table doesn't seem to satisfy the coaches (it's rubbish!). So, Nuffle will be prayed to with 1d8 on a Unicorn version Nuffle Prayer Table instead of kick-off result 6 on the kick-off table.
Another usual rule... the Boss Always a free 'Leader' skill... to be placed on a team player* who will be the Boss, who is neither the vice-champion nor the champion, and who is also not a Big Guy. (*) regardless of whether it is a primary or secondary skill for him...
Optional dress code
Painted or unpainted team
Among good company...
Bottom of the standings The two players having the "privilege" of playing at the bottom of the standings benefit for their match from a small advantage: their choice of either a bribe or two Barrels of Premium Blitz.
Expired mutagenic Nantes biscuit! During each of the two days, you can eat a biscuit specially imported from southern Brittany (yes, they're... strange over there). This allows you to transform one skill into another for the duration of your match, respecting the rules on free additional skills stated above (to be declared before the start of the match and validated by noting it on the round sheet). Your player returns to their normal state (their real skill added when composing your team) for the following round. This does not work on your champion! Only one biscuit per day. The benefits only last for the match in which it is eaten. The player returns to their original state for the next match, and the team therefore resumes its tournament start composition. You are not obliged to eat your BNPM. Furthermore, if it is not eaten on Saturday, the coach benefits from two BNPM for Sunday (and can indeed combine them in a single match!).
The Trophy takes place over 5 rounds (Swiss round system), 3 rounds on Saturday and 2 rounds on Sunday. The game consists of two halves of 8 turns. For the first round, a draw determines the teams that meet. Matches between coaches from the same league will be avoided if possible... You can challenge a particular opponent in round 1.
SATURDAY
Little surprise of round 3: your champion will go play on the opposing team, to see if the grass is greener over there and especially if the pay is better!
Board game evening (board games, miniatures, etc...); if you want to introduce a game, don't hesitate!
SUNDAY
Modulation:
Small reminder: all casualties count; if your opponent fails his dodge, it's thanks to the vigilance of your player!
Some honorary titles will be announced:
In the same fashion, we will announce the titles we're not proud of:
