General
- This tournament is the second of four consecutive BB7 tournaments in the 2026/27 season. Each one can be attended separately; additionally there is an internal overall ranking.
- The rules used are the BB 2025 (Season 3) rules, the Sevens rules from the Spike Handbook, and some special rules for the Crimson Chalice Cup from Spike Magazine 16 (see below).
- For ball deviation after kick-off, 2D6 are rolled and the lower result is used. For Throw-Ins, 3D6 are rolled and the lower 2 results are used.
- On the Kick-off table, D3+1 replaces all references to D3+3.
- Teams with the "Swarming" special rule may field D2 (instead of D3) additional players.
- We play a Resurrection tournament: Every game is played with the fully restored roster, injuries are not permanent, and there are no player advancements.
IMPORTANT: If Spike Magazine 22 with the new BB7 rules is released beforehand, there may be certain adjustments to the ruleset! This will be announced accordingly by me.
Team Creation
- Each team may have a maximum team value corresponding to its tier in the list below.
- Each team must have at least seven players and may have a maximum of eleven players.
- A team may have a maximum of four non-Linemen players; the normal restrictions apply here (e.g. 0-1 Ogre in a Human team). Teams that have different Linemen positionals (e.g. Chaos Renegades, Old World Alliance, Underworld Denizens, Humans) may use these without limit according to the respective team roster.
- Example: A Renegade Goblin, Renegade Orc, Renegade Skaven, Renegade Dark Elf and Renegade Human count as Linemen in a Chaos Renegade team. For them, only the numerical limit in the team roster applies (i.e. 0-1 or 0-16 respectively), so they can be chosen in addition to the team's positionals.
- Rerolls cost double their normal price (a reroll in a Human team therefore costs, e.g., 100,000 GP).
- Inducements must be purchased already at team creation. Mercenaries, Desperate Measures, Special Play Inducements and Extra Trainings cannot be chosen. Star Players cannot be chosen by Tier 1-4 teams.
- Tier 5 teams may choose 0-1 Star Player (other teams have no access to Star Players). The Star Player uses up one of the team's four non-Lineman player positions. In addition to their cost, they reduce - depending on their price - the amount by which team gold can be allocated for skills (but not the maximum team cost): Star Players up to and including 100k -> reduction of 30k; up to 200k -> reduction of 60k; up to 300k -> reduction of 90k; up to 400k -> reduction of 120k.
- 0-1 Team Mascots may be chosen at a price of 60k.
Tier 1 (total budget max 640,000; max 40k for skills): Amazons, Dark Elves, Humans, Lizardmen, Old World Alliance, Skaven, Underworld, Wood Elves
Tier 2 (total budget max 670,000; max 70k for skills): Elven Union, High Elves, Imperial Nobility, Necromantic Horror, Norse, Orcs, Shambling Undead, Vampires
Tier 3 (total budget max 710,000; max 110k for skills): Bretonnia, Chaos Dwarves, Chaos Renegades, Slann
Tier 4 (total budget max 740,000; max 140k for skills): Black Orcs, Chaos Chosen, Dwarves, Gnomes, Khorne, Nurgle, Tomb Kings
Tier 5 (total budget max 780,000; max 180k for skills): Goblins, Halflings, Ogre, Snotlings
Skills
Each team can receive additional skills according to the following rules:
- Each team chooses a player who is the Team Captain (a "Big Guy" may not be chosen, unless the team is Tier 5). This player receives the Leader skill at no additional cost. Each coach may instead receive an additional 20k gold for buying skills, if desired. For teams with the "Team Captain" special rule (i.e. Humans and Orcs), the captain chosen according to the special rule additionally receives the Leader skill (here too, the coach may receive 20k for buying additional skills instead of the Leader skill).
- Each coach may additionally grant skills by spending gold from the skill budget; the skill budget gold depends on the respective tier (see above).
- Primary Non-Elite Skill: 20k
- Primary Elite Skill: 30k
- Secondary Non-Elite Skill: 40k
- Secondary Elite Skill: 50k
- Skill stacking is allowed at the costs below; however, no player may receive more than two additional skills (the Leader skill [and possibly the Pro skill] of the Team Captain counts as one of these skills, with no stacking costs incurred here).
- Cost for 2 Primary Non-Elite Skills: 50k
- Cost for 1 Primary Non-Elite Skill and 1 Primary Elite Skill: 60k
- Cost for 2 Primary Elite Skills: 70k
Special Rules of the Second Stop: Crimson Chalice Cup
The following special rules from Spike Magazine 19 apply (all players receive copies on site):
- The Vampire Weather Table applies.
- The Vampire Kick-Off Event Table applies.
- The following modification is necessary due to the particularities of BB7: Result 3 ("Not the Chandelier!") affects both Lines of Scrimmage.
Additionally, the following special rule applies: "A Sip from the Crimson Chalice" - Each coach chooses any player from their team at the start of the game. This player receives the abilities "Regeneration", "Hypnotic Gaze" and "Bloodlust (2+)" as well as the "Vampire" keyword. If the Bloodlust test is failed, the player may bite any other teammate (not only Thralls) on their team.
