Well folks, another year and we're still excited to put on another tournament hehehe, I know it's far away...
But we already have a date: October 31, 2026.
Goblins love the chaos of a good Blood Bowl match, but there's never enough chaos. That's the reason for creating The Squig Trophy. A tournament where the field is surrounded by cages full of squigs. Lately the shamans have decided that special squigs had to be obtained… Of course, the goblins will use any excuse to release one or two, or maybe more, onto the field. Do you think this is crazy? This is Blood Bowl!
Also this year the magic of Halloween has made the squigs mutate, making them all gain fun/game-breaking skills XD. Now they have a clearer craving for the ball than before.
The Squig Trophy VI will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at Asador Tistafer, located in the industrial estate of the town of Picanya, very close to Valencia city, where parking is very easy.

This year, since it's the 6th edition, we've decided to go back to the classic format where everyone manages their own team XD, i.e., an individual tournament hehehe
The tournament will consist of four matches/rounds in Swiss resurrection mode, and the BB2026 rules will be used. All teams existing up to the publication date of the tournament allowed by the NAF may be used.
You can invest treasury money on hiring players and on inducements. If both coaches in the same match field the same Star Player, neither of them may use it on the playing field. That Star Player will take the money and go drink at the bar until the next match...
Special Play Cards, special coaches, mercenaries, the Death Zone rules, and Nuffle's prayers are not allowed. Undead and Necromancer teams may raise dead players only for the match in question. Only Stunty teams may use bribes and the Sneaky Git skill combo; we'll see if anyone plays goblins...
Tournament dice are mandatory. Those from this edition or from previous editions.
All teams must use miniatures that represent the race they are playing, painted with at least three colors; whether they are teams from well-known brands or conversions of heroic fantasy themed minis, avoiding things like Alien miniatures representing Slann, for example.
All miniatures must clearly differentiate the team's positional players. You can't use dwarves to represent Lizardmen, for example, or if you're going to use minis just glued to the base, at least make the effort to distinguish the positionals (like GW's Amazons, for example).

The deadline to send the roster is October 23 at 23:59.
This way there will be time to check that everything is correct, and on the Friday before the tournament we will share the rosters, so everyone can see them. And start thinking about who is the toughest XD.
However, the pairings for the round will be released on the same Saturday of the tournament in case there's any last-minute mishap...

This year all teams will get a mutant squig, which will be on your rosters, so you must leave room for it; you cannot exceed the limit of 16 players, and this player does not count toward the rule of hiring a Star Player since you haven't paid for it XD. To be clearer, since I know you, you can hire at most 15 players, and you must hire 11 before hiring any Star Player.
Lizardmen without Saurus, Black Orcs without Black Orcs, and Underworld without rats all count as Tier 5 teams.
Only Tier 5 teams may have the Dirty Player + Sneaky Git combo, and they may also hire only 1 Star Player (the ones GW considers hired together count as only 1). You must have 11 players before hiring the Star Player. And bear in mind that some of these have costs on the skills that can be taken.
We already know that megastars such as: Morg, Griff, Hakflem or Skitter will suffer the loss of 1 elite primary skill + 1 primary skill + 1 secondary skill.
Every team may field a mutant squig, which will be given for free to all teams; this year it does not come out based on the kick.
