Tournament Setup

Format: Four matches using Monrad Swiss system. Coaches are randomly paired initially and then paired according to points (highest vs highest).

Time Limit: 2½ hours per match. Once the time expires, the current turn is completed as quickly as possible and the match ends.

Scoring

Match Points:

• Win: +5 points
• Draw: +2 points
• Loss: +0 points

Bonus Points:

• 3+ Touchdowns: +1 point
• 3+ Casualties: +1 point
• Opponent scores no Touchdowns: +1 point

Tiebreakers:

1. Score, head to head
2. Buchholz (opponents' score)
3. Touchdown difference
4. Casualties difference

What to Bring

• A Blood Bowl team with clearly identifiable positionals
• A means to clearly show which skills you have selected for your team (rubber bands, skill rings)
• A set of Blood Bowl dice
• Two printed team rosters
• A Blood Bowl pitch (if half the players bring a pitch we should have enough)

Rules

The tournament uses a slightly modified version of the Chaos Cup rules:

Edition: Blood Bowl 2025 (Season 3)

Teams: All races in the Blood Bowl 2025 rulebook & NAF supplement Slann.

Resurrection Style: All damage is reset after each match. Apothecaries function as described in the rulebook.

Budget: 1,150,000 gold pieces to build your team. You may purchase positionals, rerolls, fan factor, assistant coaches, cheerleaders, apothecary and inducements with this money.

Inducements: Only inducements from the 2025 rulebook are allowed. The following inducements CANNOT be selected:

• Mercenaries
• Wizards
• Prayers to Nuffle
• Temp Agency Cheerleader
• Part-time Assistant Coach

Star Players: If you include a Star Player, you must have 11 players on your team BEFORE hiring them. It is not allowed to have 10 players plus a Star Player.

Team Tiers:

1. Tier 1: Amazon, Dark Elf, High Elf, Lizardmen, Old World Alliance, Shambling Undead, Skaven, Underworld Denizens, Wood Elf, Vampire

   • 36 SPP + 1 Star Player

2. Tier 2: Chaos Dwarf, Elven Union, Human, Necromantic Horror, Norse, Nurgle, Orc

   • 42 SPP + 1 Star Player

3. Tier 3: Bretonnia, Chaos Chosen, Dwarf, Imperial Nobility, Khorne, Tomb Kings

   • 50 SPP + 1 Star Player

4. Tier 4: Black Orc, Chaos Renegades, Gnome, Slann, Snotling

   • 56 SPP + 2 Star Players

5. Tier 5: Goblin, Halfling, Ogre

   • 64 SPP + 2 Star Players

Skills:

• Primary Skills cost 6 SPP
• Secondary Skills cost 12 SPP
• No stat increases
• Maximum 4 of each type of ELITE Skill
• A player cannot receive both a Secondary Skill and a Primary Skill
• Star Players cannot be given skills

Star Player Costs:

• Regular Star Player: 12 SPP (in addition to hiring cost)
• Mega-Star: 24 SPP (maximum one per team)
