Warning: Nuffle will be present, expect some random events!!!! … you have been warned!!
Coaches will build their rosters using the below Tier system. Teams MAY use Star Players.
Each coach must purchase 11 players before including a Star Player or Mega-Star player. The Highlander rule IS in effect for Star Player matchups. Teams will receive Skill Points and can assign Primary (1pt) and Secondary (2pts) skills. Stacking of two primaries is allowed depending on Tier, at a cost of +1 Skill Point (e.g., two primary skills on one player = 3 pts). You may not include a Secondary Skill in a stack. Only one (1) of a particular Elite Skill (i.e., one Block, one Dodge, one Guard, one Mighty Blow) may be added to a roster.
Star Players may be purchased using a team's skill points in addition to their regular cost. Mega-Stars cost 4 pts extra. Duo stars will not have an additional tax for the second star beyond the original skill tax, though many are listed as Mega-Stars.
Mega-Stars: Bomber Dribblesnot, Cindy Piewhistle, Grak & Crumbleberry, Dribl & Drull, Estelle La Veneaux, Griff Oberwald, Hakflem Skuttlespike, H'thark the Unstoppable, Ivan Deathshroud, Jeremiah Kool, Jordell Freshbreeze, Morg 'n' Thorg, Skorg Snowpelt.
After you buy 11 players you can buy a Star Player (each team can only hire a max of one Star Player), and YES the Highlander Rule is being used during this event. When hiring a Star Player, use the following skill point penalties chart:
In the spirit of good sportsmanship, Illegal Procedures will not be called. The Tournament Moderator will give time warnings. Please be a sporting coach and play at a pace that will allow you to finish your games.
Tie Breaker: Opponent strength of schedule, if needed then Net TDs plus Net Casualties. Casualties, ALL count, including Fouls, Fans, AND self-inflicted casualties (Both Downs, failed dodges as examples).
Sportsmanship is not encouraged from the coaches, it is required! To make sure that everyone who attends will have fun. The Tournament directors will issue a warning to anyone who is taking away from the fun environment we are looking for. If the behavior continues you will be asked to leave the tournament. Arguing with the tournament directors or in any way showing them up can also result in a warning.
An important note on sportsmanship: Fouling 16 turns in a row or running up the score is not poor sportsmanship. But gloating and ridiculing your opponent while doing so is. Remember we are here to have a good time.
