Format

This is a 3-game, NAF ranked event. In round 1, teams will be drawn at random, followed by Swiss format pairings for rounds 2 and 3. Pairings will also affect which coaches play each other within teams, with coaches on stronger win rates facing each other, and those with lower win rates facing each other.

Coaches must work as a pair to accumulate team points to be declared Tornado Tag Team Champions.

Team Requirements

• Budget: 1.15m per team
• No star players allowed
• No NAF tournament shield winners can team together (top winners must pair with someone who hasn't won a NAF shield)
• All teams must take different races

Skills and Inducements

Teams have a 1.15m budget for players, rerolls, staff and inducements. Tiers are as stated in the latest FAQ/errata:

• Tier 1: 6 skill points (up to 1 secondary skill)
• Tier 2: 8 skill points (up to 2 secondary skills)
• Tier 3: 9 skill points (up to 3 secondary skills)
• Tier 4: 10 skill points (up to 4 secondary skills)

There is no limit to Elite skills.

Teams may induce the following extras:

• 0-3 Bribes
• 0-1 Halfling Master Chef
• 0-1 Apothecary
• 0-1 Bretonnian Pastry
• 0-1 Team Mascot
• 0-1 Riotous Rookies

Ruleset

We will be using Season 3 tournament rules as written in the current rulebook with up-to-date FAQ/errata in effect. The only exceptions are the 1.15m budget and no star players allowed.

Team Scoring

• Win = 2 points
• Draw = 1 point
• Loss = 0 points

Requirements

• Coaches need a NAF account (£10 for annual membership which includes swag, or £5 if a NAF rep is attending)
• Coaches need a Tourplay account (free to sign up)
• Roster deadline: 24th January 2027

Registration and Fees

• Cost: £45 per team (to cover venue hire, prize support, catering and entry gift)
• Spaces: Limited to 16 teams
• How to register: Spaces are allocated upon payment via PayPal to edroebuck@hotmail.co.uk (friends & family)

Getting There

Parking: There is a car park and plenty of free on-street parking. Please be mindful of residents and their driveways.

Public transport: Direct hourly trains from Huddersfield, Barnsley, Meadowhall and Sheffield should run well with the tournament schedule.
