Dungeonbowl Tournament

Every year, the Grotte calls again - and so it does this year!

Team Building

I'm still waiting to see if there will be an update to the Dungeonbowl rules for 2025 (Season 3), but you can assume there will be enough budget to pack all your rising college stars and a few dirty tricks. At the latest one month before the tournament, the rules will be announced and can only be changed by GW releases after that!

Scoring

Victory Points:

• Win by Touchdown: 10
• Draw: 5
• Loss: 0

Bonus Points:

• I Would Have Won That: +2 (clock runs out with ball carrier in rushing range of opponent's end zone, without rushes)
• Bomb Disposal Specialists: +1 (two bombs found), +2 (three or more bombs found)
• Space and Time: +2 (using more than four different portals)
• Infirmary: +2 (three or more injuries caused of any kind)

Venue

The venue is an event space provided free of charge by a company, so self-catering is possible. Alternatively, I will provide food and beverages at cost price. Given the time of year, this will certainly include mulled wine and hot mead as well as cookies. Lunch will be a vegetarian dish.

Tournament Format

Match Duration: 70 minutes maximum per game or until Touchdown is scored. Anyone who insists on precise time management should bring a chess clock and set it to 35 minutes; otherwise, good sportsmanship will hopefully help avoid overly slow play.

Pairings: Round-Robin, as enough can happen in the dungeon anyway.

Dungeons: At minimum, I have a 3D-printed dungeon from the old layout and 2 paper mats available. Each registration that includes committing to bring a game board permits two additional players. The layout will be determined by the organizers to match the available mats or a third prepared layout.

Special Rules:

• In the 3D dungeon, special rules always apply according to the dungeon; these will be provided next to the dungeon. An attempt will be made to ensure everyone plays in this dungeon at least once.
• For the other dungeons, no special rules apply in the first game. From the second game onwards, the organizers will designate two rooms each with a special rule. The rules for the rooms are based on those from GW but will be adjusted in detail based on feedback!
