Time Management
Before the match, talk to your opponent about which time management method you will use. Pick one of the two options below. If either coach wishes to play with a clock, they should provide the clock or app, and the other coach will have to play with the clock as well.
Playing without a clock:
- The round will start when the draw is announced
- When the time for the end of the round is reached and the game is not finished, coaches will have to decide on an outcome or the organisation will do so for them
Playing with a clock:
- Both coaches get 1 hour and 5 minutes on the clock
- The clock only runs during (blitz) turns
- During breaks, setting up, kick-off and rules questioning, the timer is paused
- If in your turn your opponent has to make a decision or roll dice, you may run their clock until they are done
- When your time is up, you may only set up and unstun your players

- Loss: 0 points
- +1 point for each TD made (max 3 points)
- +1 point for each Cas made (max 3 points)
- +1 point for proper defence (0 TDs against)
Tiebreakers: Opponent Score → Net Touchdowns + Net Casualties → dice-off, best of 5
Casualties: All casualties caused through a game are counted, e.g. failed dodges, secret weapons, crowd surfs and so on. Just count what's in your dead and injured box dugout (including any regenerations and APO saves).
Miniatures
- Miniatures should be painted and should be a clear representation of the team that they claim to be
- Please refrain from bringing teams that need to be explained to be understood
- Proxies are not allowed
- As a general rule it is expected that your team will have at least three colours applied and will be based with paint or flock
- If unsure, get in touch with the organisers
Prone Markers
There is no expectation for players to use prone markers; indeed it is encouraged that players are placed prone or stunned to aid the clarity of the game. The use of tokens placed under knocked down players to clarify whether they are prone or stunned, or to represent especially large miniatures that have been knocked down, is encouraged.
Dice Etiquette
- The sharing of dice is encouraged and is mandatory if requested by one of the coaches at any point in the game
- Establishing dice etiquette before the game starts is encouraged
- It is important to clarify your respective interpretation of acceptably rolled dice, cocked dice, etc. before any important rolls are made
- Agree on an approach before any dice are rolled and stick to it throughout the game
Referees
If they are asked to make a decision or judgement on a rule (or on the ending of a game, or on behaviour issues), remember that their decision is absolutely final.
Play Guides
Blood Bowl is a battle of skill and luck between you and your opponent. Quick reference guides for core rules are useful and encouraged; play books that tell you how to set up, attempt a one-turn touchdown, tell you the odds of dice rolls, etc. are not permitted during play.
