Format
This is a NAF team tournament. Each team consists of 4 coaches, each with a different race.
The BB2025 (Season 3) ruleset will apply, as well as any annexes and FAQs published before the tournament date. FAQs published by the NAF will apply (unless superseded by future official ones), as well as teams approved by the NAF (Slann). If Games Workshop publishes new FAQs or errata before the event, they will apply automatically. New GW teams released after August 31st, 2025 will not be valid for this tournament.
The tournament uses the Resurrection format. Injuries are only valid for the current round, and players do not progress between rounds. If a team creates zombies, skeletons, thralls, putrid or any similar players by killing an opposing player, that rule can be applied, but only for that match.
The rules for Ball retention, Team Captain, etc. apply as normal. Teams with a Captain must mark it on their roster.
Pairings and Scoring
In Round 1, pairings will be random. After that, the Swiss system will be applied, both for teams and for individual matchups between teams. Each round will last 2 hours and 15 minutes. Within that time, the match must be played and the result sheet submitted. A player may request a clock from their opponent if deemed necessary. Use of a clock is mandatory at TABLE 1.
Team scoring:
- Win: 2 points
- Draw: 1 point
- Loss: 0 points
Individual scoring:
- Win: 7 points
- Draw: 3 points
- Loss: 0 points
- Concession: -10 points. A concession will count as a 2-0 loss both in Touchdowns and casualties for the opponent, or the score at the moment of concession, whichever is greater.
Tiebreakers:
- Total points
- Head-to-head
- Opponents' points
- Individual team points
- Touchdowns scored
- Casualties scored
- Random
Rules
And here comes what all Theory Bowl fans love... let's see how we build our team and the rules for using it in a single, very shareable overview :D :

Additional rules:
- Up to 50k of the skills budget can be used for the team.
- The team budget cannot be used to buy skills.
- Skills (with no Elite limitations or repeated skills restrictions):
- Primary: 20k
- Secondary: 40k
- Elite: Skill cost +10k
- Stacking: Skill cost +10k (as many players as you want, but maximum 2 skills per player)
- Eligible inducements are those included in the ruleset at their usual costs. Prayers, Wizards, or Mercenaries CANNOT be hired.
- Only teams marked with a blue star may hire Star Players (0-2). Each Star Player hired deducts 60k from the skills budget. The following Star Players cannot be hired: Bomber, Cindy, Deeproot, Grak&Crumbleberry, Griff, Hakflem, H'thark, Jordell, Morg, Nobbla, Ripper, Skitter, Skrorg.
- Star Players cannot be repeated within the same team. If two opponents have the same Star Player, both may play.
- The Apothecary, Re-Roll, and team Bribe can each be used once per round by any team member. The Apothecary can also be used to reroll a Regeneration roll. The Re-Roll works as a normal Team Re-Roll, but cannot be recovered via Team Captain nor stolen via Chef.
Examples regarding team composition:
- My team wants Orcs, Amazons, Renegades, and Snotlings. Not valid, since Orcs and Amazons are both "Doctorado" (PhD tier), with a limit of (0-1).
- My team chooses Amazons, Underworld, Lizardmen, and Goblins. Valid team.
- My team chooses Lizardmen, Black Orcs, Halflings, and Vampires. Valid team. Also, since it doesn't include any "Doctorado" or "Máster" tier teams, we gain an Apothecary and a team Re-Roll.
Final Details
Refreshments for the Field Warriors:
We don't want you to run out of energy for crushing opponents, so we've prepared a feast worthy of champions:
- Both mornings: Coffee, teas, fruit, and pastries will be available to start the day strong. Because a hungry coach rarely leads their team to glory.
- Saturday lunch: Thanks to our sponsor, Domino's Pizza, Saturday lunch is included in the registration fee. There will be a specially prepared selection of pizzas, including vegan and gluten-free options, so no one is left out of the feast. Leftovers will be available for Sunday breakfast.
- Sunday snack: On Sunday, after the last round, there will be a brief snack available to recharge, give us time to process results, and ensure no one leaves hungry on their trip home.
Bonus (or not so much) for Painted Teams:
In this tournament there is no bonus for bringing a painted team, but we also don't like playing against teams that look like they just came off the goblin assembly workshop. That's why coaches who don't present a fully painted team will suffer a small penalty: they will automatically lose the kick-off events in all their matches. So, grab your brushes! Playing with a well-painted team not only looks better, but it also keeps the referee from giving you the stink eye from the first turn.
