Tzeenthchessee Open - RULES
Tournament will use the Bloodbowl Season 3 (BB 2025) with the current GW FAQ. We will use the NAF tournament guidance and clarifications and interpretations (published 1/15/26) unless superseded by a FAQ update prior to the event. The first round will be random pairing followed by Swiss Pairing.
Eligible teams can be selected from those given in BB2025 rule book, released Spike! published after BB2025, and GW Teams of Legend available on Warhammer Community. Tzeentch is not permitting Slann this year - maybe next year as coaches settle into the BB2025 ruleset. Teams will be tiered as outlined below:
TIER LIST:
Tier 1 – Amazons, Dark Elf, High Elf, Lizardmen, Norse, Old World Alliance, Shambling Undead, Underworld Denizens, Vampire, Wood Elf
Tier 2 – Bretonnian, Chaos Chosen, Chaos Dwarf, Elven Union, Human, Imperial Nobility, Necromantic Horror, Nurgle, Orc, Skaven, Tomb Kings
Tier 3 – Black Orc, Chaos Renegade, Dwarf, Khorne, Snotling
Tier 4 - Gnome, Goblin, Halfling, Ogre
TEAM BUILD & SKILL SELECTION:
Coaches have 1,150,000 GP to create their starting team rosters. Team rosters must contain at least 11 players. Your roster must contain at least 11 players without counting any Star Players.
Teams are allowed to take the following inducements as part of their roster where permitted:
1 Star Players(see below)
Blitzer’s Best Kegs
Bribes
Hafling Master Chef
Mortuary Assistant
Plague Doctor
Team Mascot
Wandering Apothecary
Weather Mage
Tzeentch does not like showoffs, at least ones he has not personally guided, and therefore none of the below will be permitted as they are too full of themselves.
Ineligible Star Player List:
Count Luthor Von Drakenborg, Deeproot Strongbranch, Grak and Crumbleberry, Ivan “The Animal” Deathshroud, Lord Borak the Despoiler, Maple Highgrove, Skitter Stab-stab, Varag Ghoulchewer, Bomber Dribblesnot, Cindy Piewhistle, Dribl & Drull, Griff Oberwald, Hakflem Skuttlespike, H’Thark the Unstoppable, Kreek Rustgouger, Morg ‘n’ Thorg
Those Star Players which are brought as a pair may be hired (even though that would technically be two star players) they count as 2 players towards the 16 total players allowed on the roster.
The number of skills awarded will also be determined by team type:
Tier 1 - 5 skills (No secondary skills) 3 May be Primary Elite
Tier 2 - 5 skills (Up to 1 Secondary skill) 4 May be Primary Elite
Tier 3 - 6 skills (Up to 2 Secondary skills) 4 May be Elite up to 1 Secondary Elite
Tier 4 – 7 Skills (Up to 2 Secondary Skills) 4 May be Elite up to 2 Secondary Elite
These skills are assigned before the tournament begins (i.e. no progression) and should be reflected on team rosters. Email Rosters due to Jeff FRIDAY 05/01/2026. Send to jholder1791@gmail.com.
Each player may receive no more than 2 added skills. Each of those can be Primary, Secondary skills or Elite (As permitted by the team’s tier). There is no limit on skill incidence. This is a resurrection event and injuries will not carry from match to match.
Special Rule - FLAVORED OF TZEENTCH
Before the tournament one of your players must be designated as Flavored of Tzeentch. This player may not have received any skill upgrades in your team creation, nor may they be a Star Player. Before each round this player is dipped in Tzeentch’s special sauce, Tzeentch will then “bless” them (roll a D8 and consult the chart below). If they already have the skill rolled then reroll. The skills are added through the tournament (Example: they will have 1 added skill for the first game. In the second game they will have the skill from the first game, plus a new randomly rolled skill for a total of 2 additional skills, and in the third game they will have the 2 earlier rolled skills plus a new random skill for a total of 3 additional skills).
