This will be a standard 2025 edition Blood Bowl tournament with the addition of a side challenge from the Referee and Allied Ruleskeepers Guild (R.A.R.G.).
This will be a one day, three round tournament. Coaches will randomly be paired first round, with later rounds using Swiss pairings. Each round will be 2 hours 15 minutes.
Scoring will be 2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, and 0 points for a loss.
The tie-breakers are:
Blood Bowl Tournament Manager app will be used to run this event. Latest Games Workshop FAQ and NAF Recommendations will be used.
Rosters will be due by 26 September 2026. Please email rosters to: coyotejoe13@gmail.com.
Fun Fact: Nuffle likes named players on rosters; if you chose to not name your players, the TO will!
Each team will be given a Biased Referee: Dodgy League Rep Inducement for free. This referee will be represented on the pitch with a referee miniature provided for each Coach. During registration, each Coach will randomly be assigned a named referee model. The TO will provide the painted miniatures to be used. The fate of the Dodgy League Rep will be a factor in who wins the "Rightest Ref" Award to be handed out independently of each Coach's Blood Bowl team performance awards.
Each Dodgy League Rep will position themselves on the trapdoor on the side of the pitch closest to their Coach's End Zone. Each Dodgy League Rep will be "activated" at the end of their Coach's turn. While on the pitch they will count as occupying the square that they are in and will not move except to move back to it if pushed out of it. If they are pushed off the pitch, they will not return. If both referees are eliminated, then no Foul Action Send Offs or Secret Weapon trait violations will be called. If the Dodgy League Rep is the target of a block, they may target their attacker with a block on their "activation". They will not initiate a block action unless provoked. The Dodgy League Rep can receive Defensive and Offensive assists from their Coach's players.
There will be many diverse races of Dodgy League Reps attending this competition. The stats for the Dodgy League Rep will be similar to a lineman but some will be different… All will have the benefits of "Close Scrutiny" and "I didn't see a thing" as described on page 146 of the Rulebook. Some will have additional abilities.
The referees participating are competing for the Rightest Ref award. The Dodgy League Rep that has the highest Ref Score will win the award and be blessed by Nuffle with rare insight by being allowed to peek into the Nufflenomicon (see Fluff).
Keep track of how many Foul Send Offs each coach's Dodgy League Rep enforces. Also record if your Dodgy League Rep survived the match and if the opponent Dodgy League Rep did not.
Write down on your tournament record sheet:
Remember to return your referee so that they can be present to compete in future officiating competitions.
Coaches will have a Budget of 1,150,000 gold to build their team. Coaches can assign their players skills as described in the Blood Bowl Season 3 Rulebook page 112. A Primary Skill is 1 point and a Secondary Skill is 2 points. There will be a max of four Elite skills (in total) per roster. No Skill Stacking allowed.
Each Coach is automatically given the Biased Referee: Dodgy League Rep Inducement for free regardless of if they have the Bribery and Corruption rule. Inducements may be purchased as part of team construction. However, some inducements reduce a team's available Skill Points. The list of permitted inducements is below:
Star players may be purchased using a team's skill points. Mega-stars cost 4 pts extra. If new star players are released prior to 01 September, 2026, they may be designated as additional mega-stars in addition to the ones below:
Mega-stars: Bomber Dribblesnot, Cindy Piewhistle, Deeproot Strongbranch, Estelle La Veneaux, Griff Oberwald, Hakflem Skuttlespike, H'thark the Unstoppable, Ivan "The Animal" Deathshroud, Kreek 'the Verminator' Rustgouger, Morg 'n' Thorg, Skitter Stab Stab, and Skord Snowpelt.

The Manion Cabin is a real old timey cabin located in the St. Joseph County St. Patrick's Park. It is in the woods but also in the City of South Bend, Indiana. It has an outdoor sheltered picnic area with six picnic tables that will be the site of the games. In between matches, feel free to stroll the park, admire the mighty St. Joseph River, or sit by the campfire.
The TO will provide firewood and ample cookout food options. BYOB.

There once was a brave hero who was unlucky enough to find a cursed copy of the Nufflenomicon in a cabin in the woods.
Did you know…? The Nufflenomicon is an ancient tomb written on pages of treeman flesh and inked with bloater puss. It is considered to be the oldest written translation of the Rules for Nuffle's Amorical Football to exist. They predate the great First Commissioner Roze-El's translation by thousands of years. (Some consider the Nufflenomicon to be nothing more than the drugged ramblings of a mad Nehekaren poet/blitzer, Al-Hazared the Deadite. He still plays on the Khemri team, the Bargahite Necro-Giants but refuses to address the rumor…).
The hero tried to read aloud from the gnarly tome and was instantly stuck dumb and sucked into a vortex in space and time that deposited him in the Blood Bowl universe that we all know and love. Great Nuffle took pity on the poor fool and gave him enough insight to understand and read some of the rules in the rulebook. The hero deciphered that he simply had to say the magic words after officiating a perfect game of Blood Bowl and he would be teleported back to his own home dimension. He quested to find willing Blood Bowl teams to compete in a mighty tournament so that he could officiate. His quest brought him to the attention of the Referee and Allied Ruleskeepers Guild (R.A.R.G.). The guild assisted the stranger and great Blood Bowl was performed and masterfully officiated. The ritual words were spoken (incorrectly), and the hero vanished.
Only to reappear exactly one year later. To the hero no time had passed, the ritual must have failed for he appeared to be still on the pitch he had just left. Bewildered, he began his quest again. Again, he was successful (sorta) and disappeared.
He appeared again the following year. And so, it continued over and over.
This is the 13th iteration of the Cabin In The Woods Cup.
The Referee and Allied Ruleskeepers Guild have made the stranger's appearance an annual event. They pit their brightest and bravest referees in a contest to assist the stranger in interpreting the Rules of the Nufflenomicon.
Maybe someday the hero will get the words right but, in the meantime, great Blood Bowl is enjoyed by all.
Praise Nuffle!
