3. BooMSday

Offense wins games, defense wins championships

For the third time, Münster's BOOMSDAY will be held under this iconic mantra, well known not only to most American Football fans but also to many Blood Bowl coaches.

So our 3rd Boomsday will be held in celebration of the defense.

The tournament will be held on Saturday, October 31st 2026 (Halloween) in Münster.

Schedule (31.10.2026)

• Registration: 9.20 - 9.50
• Welcome and start: 9.50
• Game 1: 10.00 - 12.30
• Lunch break: 12.30 - 13.30
• Game 2: 13.30 - 16.00
• Game 3: 16.15 - 18.45
• Award ceremony and closing: 19.00

Games may be extended into the respective breaks if both(!) players agree. However, the tournament organizers reserve the right to end a game early in order to keep to the schedule.

The use of a chess clock must be agreed to if requested by a player or the tournament organizers, and is recommended in case of doubt. We will provide some chess clocks.

When using a clock, both players must be allocated half of the remaining playing time. If a player runs out of time, the current turn ends immediately. From then on, that player may only stand up players lying on the ground and turn stunned models onto their backs in their turn. If the other player's time also runs out, the game ends immediately.

Costs and Catering

• Cost: 8€
• Lunch (optional): 13€, provisional price

Since the tournament takes place in a café, unfortunately no outside food or drinks may be brought. Drinks can be purchased at restaurant prices. Lunch will also be provided by the café. Alternatively, there are several restaurants, supermarkets, and similar options nearby to get your own food during the lunch break.

Registration and Team Submission

• Registration to: boomsday@posteo.de
• Rosters must be submitted to the same email address by October 17th (2 weeks before the event).
• Payment of the entry fee (and optional lunch) should be made via PayPal upon registration, also to boomsday@posteo.de.

Team Creation

Team creation uses the rules of the Eurobowl 2026. The specific rules can be found at the following link: https://www.eurobowl.eu/entrance-options/

The rules are only available in English on the website; we are happy to help with any language issues.

The team builder bbtc.pl has these rules implemented and automatically checks all rosters for correctness, so we can warmly recommend using this program - it also makes checking the rosters easier for us.

Pairings and Scoring

• 3 rounds will be played.
• In the first round, pairings are drawn randomly; thereafter, pairings follow the Swiss system (accelerated).
• A win is worth 3 points, a draw is worth 1 point.

The following awards will be given:

• 1st Place
• 2nd Place

Golden Rule

The tournament is primarily meant to be fun for all participants and a safe space. We therefore expect fair play from everyone involved. If anything seems off to you, or you feel uncomfortable for any reason, please contact the tournament team - we are happy to help!

Miscellaneous

• If a player wishes to play with a shared set of dice, this must be agreed to. In addition, the tournament team will provide at least one neutral set of dice.
• All uncertainties not covered by the rulebook, current FAQs/errata, or this announcement will be decided at the discretion of the tournament organizers.
• We expect positional players to be clearly recognizable and recommend using colored base rims in case of doubt.
• If a team has too many players on the pitch, the following rule applies (deviating from the rulebook): a random player is removed from the pitch; if it is the turn of the team with too many players when this is noticed, an additional turnover is caused.
