Every player of Dungeonbowl knows that if they perform well enough for their college, they may get chosen to move up to the big leagues and play Blood Bowl. But the question remains, how well will these players do when they move out of the dungeon and have to show their skills on a blood bowl pitch? That is what the Combine is for. All of the coaches and scouts from perspective teams come here to determine which players they would like to draft on their teams, and the best way to see how these players perform is to watch them in action with their teams.
This is Dungeonbowl teams playing on a Blood Bowl Pitch. The two goals every coach will be aspiring to will be Tournament Champion (Most tournament points) and #1 Pick (Individual player with the most SPP).
The Dodecahedron Combine 2026 is being hosted by the Darkland Society of Goblinoid Metallurgy in the desolate wastelands of Darkland.

Unless specifically stated otherwise, we will be using the current “2nd Season” rules for BloodBowl including Deathzone, all Spike Magazines 11 to current, the BloodBowl 2022 Annual, Dungeonbowl 2021, and any additional rules considered official by GW.
This includes:
NAF Rules for Tournaments 2022
Optional Rules/Clarifications
• The Illegal Procedure rule will not be in use, nor is the 4-minute “timer” rule.
• Normal resurrection rules are in effect, meaning that SPPs are not counted toward players leveling up and injuries do not carry over between games. However SPPs will count toward determining the #1 Pick for the tournament (the player who earns the most SPP).
• All rules from the Blood Bowl 2020, Deathzone, Dungeonbowl 2021, and Death Match apply except where listed below.
Team Building Rules
You are given 1,100,000 gold pieces to build your Dungeon Bowl (College of Magic) team.
• You may purchase players and rerolls as normal with this money.
• Journeymen, Special Play cards, Biased referees, Infamous coaching staff, Star Players, and Mercenaries are NOT ALLOWED (Giants are considered mercenaries for this tournament)
• You may purchase any other inducements for your team that are available to “Any Team”(for example Waugh Drummer and Riotous Rookies are not allowed). Blood Bowl inducements are available because this is being played on a pitch. However, the only wizards allowed will be college specific wizards. Halfling Chef will be 300k for every team. Bribes will be 100k for every team.
• You must have at least 11 players on your team.
• Argue The Call: For this to be allowed, you must have a coach model that is thematically accurate for your team. No regular players or oddball figures. Final discretion is given to the organizer as to what qualifies.
• College of Magic Teams only.
Additional Skills
After the team is built, you will have 120k to use for skills. You can choose any skills from Blood Bowl or Dungeonbowl that are allowed for your players.
• All skills should be assigned before the tournament begins (i.e. no progression) and reflected on team rosters.
• All skills are chosen. There will be no random skills.
• 20K for primary skills and 40K for secondary skills (only one player allowed to stack 2 skills).
• Your team may only take up to four of any specific skill.
• No stat increases.
TO will roll on Desolate Wasteland Weather Table before each round.
Players will roll on the Norsca Kickoff table. (Add a goblin lineman on a roll of 11)
The games will be played with Explodin’ Balls (Death Zone p.70)
NAF Tournament Info
This is an NAF approved tournament. If you wish to receive limited edition yearly gift and have your tournament progress tracked, there will be a NAF official onsite accepting registration for the cost of $5/year (but it might be $10). More information can be found at TheNAF.net
Tournament Rundown
All 3 games will be played on a blood bowl pitch.
You Bring
Painted team, dice, and templates. Your roster and 3 copies. Feel free to bring your field. (I will probably need extras)
Coach’s do not need to bring balls (but can provide their own balls if they prefer), or d6s (double 6 dice will be provided)
Coaches MUST use double 6 dice for all d6 dice rolls. (Coaches can use 6-sided dice if they are using a dice cup)
Timing
The TO will attempt to strictly enforce the time limit. You are supposed to receive ‘Time Remaining’ updates from the Tournament Organizer to help you stay on pace. The TO may be fairly laid back about all this depending on how fast the games are going.
When time is called, you will play “even turns”. If you just started turn 7(for example), then you and your opponent each finish turn 7. If the inactive player has already played the current turn the game ends upon completion of the active player’s current turn.
Dice
Only GW, NAF, Impact, or Texas Block Dice will be allowed. Only Double-Six dice allowed for d6 rolls. (Coaches can use 6-sided dice if they are using a dice cup)
You are not required (but are allowed) to share dice with your opponent if requested.
It is encouraged (but not required) to use a dice tower or dice cup; and make sure your opponent sees and acknowledges the dice roll results before picking them up again.
Scoring
During each round, you will fill out a score sheet to track your progress. At the end of the match, you will add up the scoring as follows:(underline designates tournament points, italicized signifies SPP)
• A WIN is worth 60 points
• A DRAW is worth 30 points
• A LOSS is worth 10 points
• Each touchdown is worth 5 points. Make sure to mark the player who scores for SPP. (In Dungeonbowl TDs are worth 5 SPP – mark it accordingly)
• Each Casualty is worth 2 points (From blocks, fouls, chainsaws, bombs, stabs, thrown players landing on an opposing player, players pushed into a wall, failed dodges based on skills {tackle, prehensile tail, etc.) and Crowd Surfing. If they are from your opponent’s own teammates (eaten or thrown), regular failed dodges, or failed rushes, they do not count.) Make sure to mark the player who caused the casualty for SPP. Treat any injury result, even if it’s from fouls or otherwise allowed for the 2 tournament points, as a casualty for that player.(2 SPP). Tally all fouls (successful or not) for Most Foul award.
• Throwing completed passes (1 SPP), deflections (1 SPP), and interceptions (2 SPP) are not worth tournament points but will be counted for SPP.
• MVP will be awarded randomly. (4 SPP)
• If you finished the game before time is called you receive 3 bonus pts (you only receive these bonus points if your results sheets are turned into the T.O. before time is called)
There will be no overtime played. If your game ends in a draw, it’s draw.
Tiebreakers
The scoring system has been set up to hopefully get the most accurate representation of how everyone has performed. If, by chance there is a tie in Tournament points, the ties will be broken in this order:
• Winning Percentage
• Strength of opponents
• Casualties
• TD Diff
Awards
In order to qualify for any award, the coach must complete all 3 rounds.
The following awards will be given out after the last round:
• Combine Champion – Most tournament points.
• #1 Pick Award – Most SPP on an individual player.
• Most Touchdowns
• Most Casualties
• Assassin Award – Most casualties by an individual player.
• Best Defense – Least points allowed
• Most Foul – Team with the most fouls
• Bubblegum Award – Least tournament points
Trickle-down Awardonomics
Coaches will only be eligible for one award. Tournament Organizer will trickle-down an award to the next eligible player. If there is a tie for injuries, teleports, or touchdowns, the coach of the team with more SPP will be given the award. If there is a tie in two categories, the coach of the team with more SPP will be given their choice of award.
If a coach has qualified to win an award in more than one category, they will be given the choice of what category they want and the other category will be given to the next coach in line for it. Combine Champion will always be awarded to the coach with the most tournament points. #1 Pick and Assassin Award will be given independently of the team awards, so a single coach could theoretically win Combine Champion and #1 Pick.
Painting
All teams are expected to meet the minimum painted guidelines. They must have 3 colors on them and have had some attempt at making them appear finished. (Because of the possible happenstance of a coach mixing differently painted Blood Bowl teams to create a Dungeonbowl team, allowances will be made if the team is not uniform, but make it clear which players are on the same team) Make it clear what position each player is so there is no confusion.
Sportsmanship
We are here to enjoy the game of Blood Bowl. We expect good sportsmanship. Note that:
Fouling 16 turns in a row and running up the score is not poor sportsmanship, but gloating and ridiculing your opponent while doing so is. Also having a bad attitude during the game makes it no fun for everyone. You may be having a hard time, but this game can turn around quickly and the person who has the bad attitude can wind up winning and that makes them look like a jackass. So don’t do be that person.
