The Tournament
This year the tournament will carry the NAF NATIONAL label with everything that entails.
It will also be NOF, CGO (Challenge du Grand Ouest) and individual CDF.
It will be an individual tournament, resurrection format and Swiss rounds (I still don't know why it's called that, but oh well...).
All 2020 rosters will be accepted.
Roster Creation
The Season 3 rules will be used.
The Season 3 rules + High Elf pdf + the Slann roster modified by the NAF.
To build your roster, you will have 1,300,000 GP, which is a lot but not too much. With this sum, you can:
- You MUST spend at least 50,000 GP on inducements
- Buy your players
- Buy re-rolls
List of authorised inducements:
- Hire 0-2 Star Player(s) because, well, they make things better. They can be part of the 11 starting players. Star Players that come in pairs (Skink or Elf twins) count as only 1 Star Player.
- Buy skills:
- You can buy as many single/primary/normal skills as you want at a price of 20,000 GP each.
- You can buy 2 double/secondary skills at a price of 30,000 GP each.
- A player may only receive one additional purchased skill.
- You can only buy the same skill twice (e.g. two "Dodge" or two "Guard").
- Goblins, Gnomes, Snotlings, Halflings and Ogres may buy 4 doubles if they wish.
- Strength 5+ creatures may not receive "double/secondary" skills EXCEPT HALFLING, GNOME, OGRE, SNOTLING AND GOBLIN TEAMS, WHICH CAN.
- Buy 0-3 bribes at a price of 100,000 each, except "blackmail and corruption" rosters which can buy 6 and will pay 50,000 GP each.
- Buy 0-6 assistant coaches at a price of 10,000 each.
- Buy 0-2 Bloodweiser kegs at a price of 50,000 each.
- Hire a Giant at a price of 350,000. However, it will only have Mighty Blow +1 due to a NAF recommendation for being National.
- Hire 0-6 cheerleaders at a price of 10,000 each.
- Hire the famous staff member Josef Bugman at a price of 100,000.
- Hire a Mortuary Assistant at a price of 100,000.
- Hire a Weather Mage at a price of 25,000.
- Hire a Plague Doctor at a price of 100,000.
- Hire Unleashed Rookies for "cut-price linemen" rosters at a price of 150,000.
- Hire a mascot at a price of 25,000.
- Hire a Biased Referee at a price of 120,000 or 80,000 for "blackmail & corruption".
- Hire a Master Chef at a price of 300,000 GP except Halflings who will pay 100,000 GP.
- NO wizard of any kind.
- NO local apothecary.
- NO mercenaries.
- NO additional skills on Star Players or the Giant.
- NO surcharge for so-called elite or diamond skills.
Your opponent and you will each manage your respective team sheets. We are gentlemen - in shorts, admittedly, but gentlemen nonetheless.
In case of any dispute over one or more rules points, if the two parties cannot reach an agreement, the organisers will settle it (cutting into the flesh, needless to say).
It's Summer!!
Since it's summer, summer attire is required!!
HERE'S HOW TO WIN AN EXTRA RE-ROLL:
If a coach wears all of the following at once:
- flip-flops (with the strap between your toes, that is)
- sunglasses
- swimming trunks or a swimsuit
- a Hawaiian shirt
- a bucket hat of any kind
- a reusable cup, a glass, a mug... anything to drink from!
then you've won it!!
P.S.: this re-roll can be stolen by a Halfling Master Chef.
Ladies and gentlemen, to your wardrobes...
Scoring
- Win: 1000pts
- Draw: 400pts
- Loss: 0pt
- +3pts per Touchdown
- +2pts per casualty (crowd, failed Dodge, failed GFI, block, etc...)
- +1pt per foul
The 1st tie-breaker will be having actively taken part in building a sandcastle. Then, the difference between Touchdowns scored and conceded will separate those tied, followed by casualties...
