Scoring
Points:
Win: 60
Draw: 30
Loss: 10
Bonus points:
Win by 2 TDs +5
Each additional TD above 2 +3
Lose by 1 TD +2
Per Casualty: +2 (Casualties from all sources in which a player on your team (or their skills) were involved will count)
Pitch Clearing your opponent: +8 (once per game)
Your LEGEND was removed from the pitch for ANY reason other than end of drive: -2 (per instance)
Your opponent’s LEGEND was removed from the pitch via:
Casualty (regardless of cause): +5
Sent off by a biased ref roll: +5
Sent off under normal circumstances: +3
knocked out for any reason: +2
Surfed to reserves (or any other possible reason not listed above): +1
These stack limitlessly.
If the LEGEND is removed as a casualty, saved by an apo, or regenerates, and is then removed as a casualty again later, you get +10, or +15, or +20...
If a legend is sent off, but a successful argue/bribe happens, the player is not removed from the pitch, therefore no bonus applies in either direction.
Casualties caused by snaked rush rolls will not count.
Casualties on failed dodges will count if one of your player's skills was used and had an effect on the outcome.
Tie-breakers:
In the unlikely event of a tie on overall points, the following tiebreakers will be used.
Number of pitch clear bonuses received. (Yes, first. Bring the pain)
Gorkton rostered? (any variant)
TD differential
CAS differential
Mine-off
Teambuilding
Inducement Restrictions:
No Mega-Stars, wizards or cards.
Everything else is allowed and you're encouraged to look at all your options.
This allows all spike magazine inducements except for the vampire "wizard".
1.75m tournament
Skills and stats cost their usual TV amounts, and come out of your overall team budget. Your total build, including everything on your roster, will be 1750 Max
Star players:
Mega-stars are not allowed. Normal 0-2 limit applies. Two-for-ones will take two roster slots, but only one star slot.
Hired stars will play for both teams if hired for both.
Mercenaries:
Coaches are encouraged to hire up to two mercenaries for their team, using the rules in the Death Zone rulebook.
Only one mercenary of any one type may be chosen.
Each mercenary may take one skill/stat, and one trait package.
These players may NOT have their stats reduced to lower their cost.
You may only have one instance of Dirty player +2 or Mighty Blow +2 on your team, not both.
Team Composition:
You may have a total of 16 rostered players.
A total of 4 of these roster slots may be filled by stars/mercenaries. (Taking 2x two-for-one stars will prevent you from taking mercenaries)
You must have a minimum of 11 players on your roster before adding stars/mercenaries.
Coaching staff that can potentially join the pitch do not count toward this limit.
Riotous Rookies can still take you over 16 players.
If your LEGEND is available for a drive, they MUST be put on the field. No Hiding in the dugouts for these showboats.
Skills:
One player *MUST* have 6 added skills/stats, This player is your LEGEND. Go crazy, build this player however you want within their usual stat/skill limits.
Two players may have 3 added skills.
Two players may have 2 added skills.
All other players may have only ONE added skill.
Block, Dodge, Wrestle, and Tackle may be taken on as many players as you like.
Outside of those skills, a skill may only be chosen 4 times. (Including your legend's skills)
Stats:
In addition to whatever you put on your legend, you may take stat ups on up to two additional players with a limit of 40k gold per player, or one player if you want a strength up.
Normal Stat Limits apply.
Stat boosts count as one skill and CAN be used on your 2-3 skill players.
Tournament Star Player: a team may have any or all of the options that they pay for.
Gorkton the Shifter 100k
6 4 3+ 6+ 10+ Loner 4+, Block, Grab, RESET THE CLOCK!*
*Gorkton decides once again to rearrange someone’s face.
Once per HALF: After declaring a Blitz Action, Gorkton loses Grab and gains Frenzy, Pile driver and Dirty player +1 for this turn. If caught fouling as part of this activation, the coach may add +2 to their Argue the call roll.
Additional Gorkton Inducement Options:
Gorkton the Merchant 30k (+3 dedicated fans, +1 assistant coach, +1 Cheerleader)
Gorkton and/or his team work the crowd and hype them up for your match!
Gorkton the Miner 30k
For a fee, Gorkton and/or his team will spend your matches digging for gold.
When a "Prayers to Morkton" roll is made, you may choose to modify the roll by +1 or -1. to a maximum of 7.
Prayers to Mork(ton)
1 - Looked over - Better luck next time!
2 - The Gilded Pick - Until the end of the drive, a player of your choice gets the Stab rule with a +1 modifier to the armor roll. Any subsequent injury roll from this ability may not be modified in any way.
3 - The Cart - Get your players back on the pitch faster, for any knocked out players during this drive, you may make a wake up roll immediately, if they succeed, place them directly in reserves rather than the knockout box.
4 - The CLOCK! - Time out, use immediately or save for a future kick. If saved, it will happen alongside whatever event is rolled for that kick.
5 - Strange glowing rock - For the drive, Randomize one player from your team. That player gains a mutation of your choice.
6 - Mining equipment set - For the drive, one player of your choice without loner gains +2 AV (to a maximum of 11+), Iron Hard Skin, and -1 to Rush rolls (hey, it's heavy).
7 - Mining Helmet - One player in the reserves box may join the pitch after one turn has passed for both teams, this player must enter trough the trap door closest to their dugout. If no player is available, a free snotling with loner 4+ will take the helmet and join your team for the drive. This snotling will be thrown out at the end of the drive, no argue, no bribe.
8 - Flash Sale! - Pick your choice of 2-7.
Weather:
The subterranean weather chart will be in effect across all games.
Weather will start nice in all rounds.
May the gods have mercy on your teams if that changes.
Kick off table:
Use the normal table with the following changes:
6 - Prayers to Mork(ton) - see above list.
11 - Distracting merchandise - Follow procedures for "Officious ref" but the player is sent to reserves on a "1".
Awards
To win an award the coach must play in all rounds. Tiebreakers will be determined by the Tournament Organizer as needed. The Tournament Organizer reserves the right to adjust the winners in the best interest of the tournament. (For example, if a coach would win two awards one of the awards may be given to another coach.)
Goldmine Champion – First place team in standings with the most overall points
Runner-up – Second place team in standings with the most overall points
3rd Place - Third place team in standings with the most overall points
Clean-up Crew – Coach that finished lowest in standings with the fewest overall points
Best Painted – Best Painted Team decided either by guest judge or popular vote. (This award will not trickle down, and will not prevent you from winning another)
Best Offense – Team that scored the most TDs outside the top 3.
Most Brutal – Team that caused the most Casualties from Blocking
Stunty Cup – Stunty team with highest overall points
Sportsmanship
We are here for the fun of the game. Sportsmanship is not only encouraged from the coaches, it is required! We all have bad luck occasionally, but bad behavior will be addressed by the Tournament Organizer.
Fouling 16 turns in a row, stalling, or running up the score is not poor sportsmanship, but gloating and ridiculing your opponent is. This is not the tournament to take your foot off the gas in.
The Last Word
The Tournament Organizer will be the final arbitrator for any interpretation of the rules. The rules may change without notice.
