The NAF Championship will abide by the latest guidelines for all NAF tournaments. The event will follow Games Workshop’s Designer’s Commentary from this latest release and Teams of Legend documents. Any team publications released by Games Workshop before March 31st, 2025 (such as a new Spike! Magazine or rules in miniature packs) are also eligible for use
Team building
Specific NAF Championship rules for roster building and points scoring are as follows: (Note that the TOs reserve the right to make alterations to these rules - finalised rules will be in place January 1st 2025)
Rosters are purchased with a treasury 1,150,000 gold crowns. Unspent gold crowns are lost and during the pre-match sequence no extra gold crowns are awarded for teams with a lower team value. However, teams can roster a selection of inducements as follows.
The following inducements are allowed for teams in all tiers:
Bloodweiser Kegs: 0-2
Mortuary Assistant: 0-1
Part-time Assistant Coach: 0-3
Plague Doctor: 0-1
Temp Agency Cheerleader: 0-4
Wandering Apothecary: 0-1
The following inducements are only allowed for Tier 3 teams:
Biased Referee: 0-1
Bribes: 0-3
Halfling Master Chef: 0-1
Riotous Rookies: 0-1
In addition to the starting skills on your roster all teams will have additional skills that they can add to their roster. Access to skills are split into 2 options and tiered as follows:
Tier 1 Option A: 6 Primary skills
Tier 1 Option B: 3 Primary Skills & 1 Star Player
Tier 2 Option A: 6 Primary skills, 1 Secondary skill
Tier 2 Option B: 3 Primary Skills, 1 Secondary skill & 1 Star Player
Tier 3 Option A: 6 Primary skills, 2 Secondary skills & 0-1 Star Players
Tier 3 Option B: 3 Primary Skills, 1 Secondary Skill and 2 Star Players
These additional skills are all allocated at the start of the tournament so they remain relevant for all 6 matches. The secondary skill(s) can be swapped to a primary skill if you wish. Skills are allocated as “new skill” rolls specified as either “primary” or “secondary” as per the Improvement Rolls table. You may only select one additional skill per player. There is no restriction to skill duplication i.e. you may give several different players the same skill if you wish. Statistic improvements and random skills cannot be selected.
Blood Bowl team races are split into the following 3 tiers:
Tier 1: Amazon, Chaos Dwarf, Dark Elf, Dwarf, Lizardman, Norse, Orc, Shambling Undead, Skaven, Underworld Denizens, Wood Elf, Vampire
Tier 2: Black Orc, Chaos Chosen, Chaos Renegade, Elven Union, High Elf, Human, Imperial Nobility, Khorne, Necromantic Horror, Old World Alliance, Slann, Tomb Kings
Tier 3: Gnomes, Goblin, Halfling, Nurgle, Ogre, Snotling
Star Players
All rosters will have access to a reduced selection of star players at this years NAFC. If you wish to bring a star player on your rosters select the appropriate option from the skill options listed above. Remember, you will reduce the number of additional skills that are available to you by selecting a star player.
When rostering a Star player the following rules must be followed:
You must first roster 11 regular players before adding a star player to your team.
0-1 star player can be rostered on teams listed in tier 1 or tier 2
0-2 star players can be rostered on teams listed in tier 3
Star players that are selected as a pair (such as the Swift Twins) count as 2 Star players for the purposes of availability.
If 2 coaches are drawn against each other with the same Star player on their roster, both players are permitted to use them.
Star players cannot be allocated additional skills
The following list of star players are NOT PERMITTED for selection by any team in this years NAFC:
Bomber Dribblesnot

Submitting Your Roster
Pre registration is required at this years NAFC to speed up the registration process, submitting your roster on time is the first tie breaker during the event.
Please finalise your rosters and submit them by email to thenafchampionship@gmail.com by April 13th 2025.
Please be sure to include the following information in your roster:
Your NAF name and number
Team race
All calculations for team cost
Additional skills selected
Rosters that do not include all of the above will be rejected during the roster checking process and risk being marked as late. We would recommend using a roster building program of your choice and sending the roster as a PDF for ease of access. All coaches must still bring a copy of their team roster with them to the event, to be shared with your opponent during round 1 and made available to the event organisers or any other opponent upon request. Remember, submitting your roster on time is the first tie breaker during the event.
Tournament Scoring
After each round tournament points will be awarded as follows: Win: 2 points / Draw: 1 point / Loss: 0 points
When your game is complete you need to submit your results on this site. Please include your touchdowns and casualties and double-check the data, both coaches are responsible for the results slip. We will also have paper results slips as a backup should there be any technical difficulties. Only record casualties that would give Star Player Points, casualties causes by fouls, crowd pushes, failed dodges, bombs, stabs, chainsaws etc. do not count.
After round 6 final standings a winner will be declared (there is no final at this years NAFC). Players on the same points will be separated by the following tiebreakers:
1. Submitted roster on time (April 13th 2025)
2. Opponent Score - the sum of all opponent’s tournament points, also known as strength of schedule.
3. Fewest Star Players
4. Net Touchdowns + Net Casualties
5. Net Touchdowns
6. Net Casualties
7. Touchdowns Scored
8. Casualties Inflicted
9 Random (unless for an award; in which case we will have a Pop-and-Lock Dance Competition)
Code of Conduct
Should you have any concerns or questions during your game, or between rounds, please speak to a referee. If they are asked to make a decision or judgement on a rule remember that their decision is final.
Blood Bowl is a battle of skill and luck between you and your opponent. Quick reference guides for core rules are useful and encouraged; play books that tell you how to set up, attempt a one-turn touchdown, etc. are not permitted.
Game completion: If a game is called by a referee after the allowed time for the round has expired, the game will end immediately with no further actions taken. As such it is in your interest to ensure you keep an eye on your and your opponent’s game time.
Dice etiquette: The sharing of dice is encouraged, and is mandatory if requested by one of the coaches at any point in the game. Establishing dice etiquette before the game starts is encouraged; it is important to clarify your respective interpretation of acceptably rolled dice, cocked dice, etc. before any important rolls are made. Agree on an approach and stick to it throughout!
Handling miniatures: Always ask your opponent before handling their figures, and respect them if they prefer you not to.
Painting Competition
This year the “Best Painted Team” event returns. The competition will be judged by the tournament organisers. During lunch on Saturday we will ask anyone who wants to be considered to leave their team out for display. The judges will then consider these teams during this lunch period and an announcement about the winner will be made during the awards ceremony on Sunday. The judges will be looking primarily to reward high- quality painting. Conversion work, presentation, and other “wow” factors will be strongly considered too, but consider this to be a painting competition first and foremost. You must be attending the event to be considered for best painted and teams (not coaches) that have won the award in the past will not be reconsidered.
