Team Building
Each team receives gold 1,150,000 to spend on Roster Building only.
Roster building comprises the purchasing of players, sideline staff, rerolls, permitted
inducements and dedicated fans.
Undead, Necromantic and Nurgle teams are allowed to apply the Masters of Undeath and Plague Ridden special rules. Players added to a team roster through a game as a result of those special rules are removed from the roster at the end of that game.
Teams will consist of a minimum of 11 players and a maximum of 16 players, No star players are allowed, they are all enjoying a break and spending the gold they earnt from Dark Fire Bowl I.
Other inducements permitted:
- Bloodweiser Keg 0-1 (only 1 keg max allowed)
- Wandering Apothecary 0-2
- Mortuary Assistant 0-1
- Plague Doctor 0-1
- Riotous Rookies 0-1
- Halfling Master Chef 0-1
- Part-time Assistant Coach 0-3
- Temp Agency Cheerleader 0-4
- Weather Mage 0-1
- Team mascot
- Tier 5 teams may take 0-3 bribes
- Tier 5 teams may take a biased ref 0-1
If Riotous Rookies are hired, then roll separately before each match and ensure you have
identifiable painted miniatures for the extra journeymen.
Teams receive a skill package with which to buy upgrades. The number of skills received
depends on the tier of the team as shown below:
Tier 1 - Underworld Denizens, Dwarf, Dark Elf, Orcs, Shambling Undead, Amazon, Lizardmen
Tier 2 - Skaven, Chaos Dwarf, Norse, Wood Elf
Tier 3 - Necromantic Horror, Tomb Kings, Humans, Khorne, High Elf, Vampires, Slann, Gnomes
Tier 4 - Black Orcs, Imperial Nobility, Old World Alliance, Elven Union, Chaos Chosen,
Chaos Renegades
Tier 5 - Snotlings, Halflings, Goblins, Ogres, Nurgle
Available skill upgrades also depend on tier, as follows:
Tier 1 - 5 primary
Tier 2 - 5 primary + 1 secondary
Tier 3 - 6 primary + 1 secondary
Tier 4 - 6 primary + 2 secondary
Tier 5 - 6 primary + 2 secondary + 50k TV
Any team may exchange a secondary skill for a primary skill.
Teams may stack up to 2 primary skills at the cost of 1 secondary skill. Up to 1 player per
team may receive skills in this way.
For example; a tier 2 decides to stack 2 primary skills, they would loss their secondary skill allowance to do so and have just 5 primaries across 4 players, with 1 player having 2 primaries. Tier 1 teams cannot stack with no secondary skill allowance, tier 4 and 5 can only stack skills on 1 player despite having 2 secondaries as only 1 stacked player per team is allowed.
All skills are chosen and not random.

About the Venue
Dark Fire Café Ltd is based in St Albans in an industrial area. The gaming café has kitchen facilities that serves pizzas, panni’s, cakes, coffees, soft drinks etc as well as local canned craft beer (Mad Squirrel Brewery). For more info on the food options please visit their menu here: https://www.darkfirecafe.com/menu
There are extra board games available for hire if you happen to be bringing any of your kids along!
We kindly ask that only food and drink purchased from the café is allowed on the premises.
The tabletop gaming area is located upstairs, if you have any accessibility requirements please contact me as there are also tables downstairs that can be used.
The upstairs gaming area traditionally hosts war gaming events such as 40k and AoS. Therefore the gaming tables are high and you will most likely be standing. There are however about 10 stools available for seating. Please be kind and offer the limited seating to those who specifically request a stool for any medical purposes.
.
Lunch
Lunch is not included in your ticket price but hot food is available from the Dark Fire Café.
The café has limited kitchen size and therefore won’t be able to handle all food orders if made at the same time (start of lunch break). We recommend trying to order early if possible (i.e. you’ve finished your game earlier than the 2:15 allocated time). I hope you understand and are not surprised if your order is potentially served during game 2.
Alternative food options include a Shell service station and Tesco extra about 10-minute walk on Valley Road and Beech Road.
There is also the King William IV Pub 10 min walking distance from the venue. An ideal spot to moan or celebrate your dice after the tournament.
Parking
When driving to Dark Fire Cafe, please park in the allocated visitor bays. There is also more free parking on Valley Road nearby. Please do not park in front of our neighbours' buildings.
Train Station
The industry area of Potters Wood is a 40min walk from St Albans train station and 10 minute drive from the station.
Spaces
There will be a limit of 26 players. Place secured when payment is received. We may be able to increase the size of the tournament based on the level of interest received.
