Samhain Showdown will be held on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd November 2024 at The Outpost, Sheffield, S3 8AU. The venue has free on-street parking nearby (please see the map below).

10:00 to 10:15 Registration
10:15 to 12:30 Game One
12:30 to 13:30 Lunch
13:30 to 15:45 Game Two
15:45 to 16:00 Break
16:00 to 18:15 Game Three

09:15 to 11:30 Game Four
11:30 to 12:30 Lunch
12:30 to 14:45 Game Five
14:45 to 15:00 Break
15:00 to 17:15 Game Six

Please note that in order to run the event on time, we may not be able to include anyone that arrives after the registration period has closed in the initial round one draw.
Players may play into their lunch break should both players agree. Chess clocks will be enforced should games be in danger of running over time. We suggest using a chess clock from Turn 1 of your games.
Rosters and team building
Each of the 30 races is allocated 1,150,000 gold coins to spend on Roster Building only. Roster building comprises the purchasing of players, sideline staff, rerolls, permitted inducements and dedicated fans.

and the weather is becoming changeable!

If Riotous Rookies are hired, then roll separately before each match and ensure you have identifiable painted miniatures for the extra journeymen.
All other inducements, including Star Players, are not permitted.
Teams receive a skill package with which to buy upgrades. The number of skills received depends on the tier of the team as shown below:
Tier 1 - Amazon, Lizardmen, Dark Elf, Orcs, Shambling Undead, Underworld Denizens
Tier 2 - Skaven, Dwarf, Chaos Dwarf, Norse, Wood Elf, Vampires
Tier 3 - Necromantic Horror, Tomb Kings, Humans, Khorne, High Elf, Gnomes, Slann, Old World Alliance
Tier 4 - Black Orcs, Imperial Nobility, Elven Union, Chaos Chosen, Chaos Renegades
Tier 5 - Snotlings, Halflings, Goblins, Ogres, Nurgle
Available skill upgrades also depend on tier, as follows:
Tier 1 - 6 primary
Tier 2 - 6 primary + 1 secondary
Tier 3 - 7 primary + 1 secondary
Tier 4 - 7 primary + 2 secondary
Tier 5 - 7 primary + 2 secondary + 50k TV
Any team may exchange a secondary skill for a primary skill.
Teams may stack up to 2 primary skills at the cost of 1 secondary skill. Up to 1 player per team may receive skills in this way. For example: A Tomb Kings team wishes to stack Tackle and Mighty Blow on a Blitzer - they sacrifice their secondary skill, then spend 2 primary skills on Tackle/MB, leaving them with 5 further primary skills to spend.
All skills are chosen and not random.

Scoring and tiebreakers
The first matchups will be drawn randomly.
In Rounds 2 – 6 opponents will be matched against others with a similar points score based on the overall ranking. This follows the familiar “Swiss” system used in many Blood Bowl tournaments.
Players earn points as follows each round:
Win: 2 Points
Tie: 1 Point
Loss: 0 Points
The player with the most points at the end of the tournament wins!
Players on the same points will be ranked using these tiebreakers in order:
Punctual Roster Submission
Opponents Score (aka. Strength of Schedule)
Net TDs
Net Cas (All casualties count towards this total - simply count your opponent’s CAS box at the end of the game. Sent off players do not count)
