Skill Points and Team Tiering
This will be a resurrection format tournament (no long term injuries) and with no progression (no star player points earned). When building their roster, coaches may purchase skills for their team according to the Skill Point Budget allocation below for each tier.
- Tier 1 Teams - 6 Skill Points: Amazon, Dark Elf, Dwarf, Lizardmen, Norse, Old World Alliance, Shambling Undead, Underworld Denizens, Wood Elf
- Tier 2 Teams - 7 Skill Points: Bretonnian, Chaos Dwarf, High Elf, Human, Imperial Nobility, Necromantic Horror, Orc, Skaven, Vampires, Elven Union, Tomb Kings
- Tier 3 Teams - 8 Skill Points: Black Orc, Chaos Chosen, Chaos Renegade, Khorne, Nurgle, Snotlings
- Tier 4 Teams - 9 Skill Points: Goblins, Halflings, Ogres, Gnomes
Only chosen primary skills (1 Skill Point) or chosen secondary skills (2 Skill Points) may be selected, randomly chosen skills are not allowed. Characteristic increases are not allowed.
Skill stacking:
- No players on Tier 1 teams can have more than one additional skill.
- One player on Tier 2 teams can have two additional skills, with all other players restricted to one additional skill.
- Two players on Tier 3 teams can have two additional skills, with all other players restricted to one additional skill.
- Three players on Tier 4 teams can have up to two additional skills each, with all other players restricted to one additional skill.
Any 2nd skill on a player is restricted to primary skills only and still only costs 1 Skill Point - so if a player took two primary skills it would take 2 Skill Points from their allocation, if they took a secondary and a primary it would take 3 Skill Points from their allocation.
Inducements
Any inducements from the list of "Common Inducements" on page 142 of the Blood Bowl Season Three rulebook can be taken, with the following changes:
- 0-2 Star Players may be hired as listed in the Season Three Rulebook or the Star Player Supplement found on Warhammer Community. Any Star Players added in new Spike Magazines before the date of the event will be reviewed to confirm if they will be allowed, assuming they are available on Tourplay by the team registration deadline. In all cases Star Players can only be included after a roster of at least 11 ordinary players has been hired, and subject to the Skill Point Tax explained below.
- Legacy Star Players are not allowed.
- Wizards, Prayers to Nuffle and Mercenary Players are not allowed.
- Any additional inducements published in any official Spike magazine prior to the date of the event will be reviewed to confirm if they will be allowed (any from the excluded categories listed above, e.g. Wizards, will not be allowed).
Star Players and Skill Point Tax
If a team hires any Star Players then as well as paying the GP cost it must also deduct the relevant "Skill Point Tax" from its Skill Point Budget available to purchase skills for the team's other players. If a team hires 2 Star Players then it must pay the Skill Point tax for each player. For example, a Tier 4 Team starts with a Skill Point budget of 9 Skill Points. If it decides to hire Griff Oberwald, this will cost 8 Skill Points from their initial 9 Skill Point allocation, leaving 1 Skill Point for them to use on additional skills for their normal players.
- Bugman's Best (8 skill point tax): Grak & Crumbleberry (8 skill points together), Griff Oberwald, Hakflem Shuttlespike, H'Thark the Unstoppable, More N'Thorg.
- Nuffle's Nectar (6 skill point tax): Deeproot Strongbranch, Ivan 'The Animal' Deathshroud, Jeremiah Kool, Jordell Freshbreeze, Kreek Rustgouger, Skitter Stab-stab, Varag Ghoul-chewer.
- Squig Juice (4 skill point tax): Bomber Dribblesnot, Cindy Piewhistle, Dribl & Drull (4 skill points together), Ripper Bolgrot, Roxanna Darknail, Skrog Snowpelt, Zolcath the Zoat.
- Average Josef's (2 skill point tax): Lucien & Valen Swift (2 skill points together), all other Star Players.
- Gobbo's Grog (1 skill point tax): Akhorne the Squirrel, Skrull Halfheight, Gretchen Wachter, Grim Ironjaw, Willow Rosebark, Withergrasp Doubledrool.
