Jolt Summer Cup 2026 Ruleset
This tournament is to run using the GW matched play rules included in the BB2025 ruleset and current GW tier ratings as outlined below.
Team Draft Budget
Teams are to be drafted to a value of 1,100,000 gold pieces. Note that this amount is for the purchase of players, sideline staff and inducements and does not include the value of additional skills selected using the rules below.
Inducements
All inducements listed in the BB2025 rulebook are allowed to be purchased at the value listed in the rulebook, with the exception of Prayers To Nuffle which are not allowed to be taken at all.
Team Tiers
This tournament is using the current (as of 1/1/25) team tiers provided by Games Workshop on the Warhammer Community page, which are copied below for ease of reference.
Tier 1
Amazon, Chaos Dwarf, Dark Elf, Dwarf, High Elf, Lizardmen, Norse, Old World Alliance, Underworld Denizens, Wood Elf.
Tier 2
Brettonian, Elven Union, Human, Imperial Nobility, Necromantic Horror, Orc, Shambling Undead, Skaven, Tomb Kings, Vampire.
Tier 3
Black Orc, Chaos Chosen, Chaos Renegade, Khorne, Nurgle.
Tier 4
Gnome Goblin, Halfling, Ogre, Snotling.
Skill Points
Teams are given the below number of skill points which they can use to spend on additional skills or star players for their team. The amou of Skill Points a team receives will depend on the team’s tier, as follows:
Tier 1 = 6 Skill Points
Tier 2 = 8 Skill Points
Tier 3 = 9 Skill Points
Tier 4 = 10 Skill Points
Purchasing Skills
Purchasing primary skills will cost 1 Skill Point. There is no limit to the number of Primary Skills a team can purchase, so long as they have Skill Points remaining.
Purchasing Secondary Skills for a player will cost 2 Skill Points. Teams are limited to the number of Secondary Skills they can purchase depending on their Tier, as follows:
Tier 1 = Maximum of 1 Secondary Skill
Tier 2 = Maximum of 2 Secondary Skills
Tier 3 = Maximum of 3 Secondary Skills
Tier 4 = Maximum of 4 Secondary Skills
Each player can only be given a single additional skill, though there is no limit to the number of times a particular Skill can be chosen, with the exception of Elite Skills which can only be taken a maximum of four times in a Matched Play roster (note that this is four times per Elite Skill, not four Elite Skills maximum).
Additionally, Star Players cannot be given skills.
Star Players
Skill Points must also be spent if a team wishes to take a Star Player on their Team Draft List as an inducement. If a team wishes to take a Star Player, then they must still pay the Star layer’s associated cost in gold pieces, and also spend 2 Skill Points to have them on the team.
Tier 1 may only have 1 Star Player.
Tiers 2, 3 and 4 may have a maximum of 2 Star Players.
Star Players that must be hired as a pair only count as a single star player choice, and therefore only cost 2 Skill Points for the pair, but will still take up 2 spaces on the Team Roster.
Some Star Players have such an impact on the game that they count as Mega-Stars. Mega-Stars cost 4 Skill Points rather than the usual 2 Skill Points.
A team may only ever have one Mega-Star on their team.
The list of Mega-Stars is based on the current (as of 1/1/2025) Games Workshop list of Mega-Stars found on the Warhammer Community page and is copied below for convenience.
