DAWNBOWL II
It’s a new dawn, it’s a new day, it’s a new edition and a new Eurobowl ruleset! Let’s enjoy a day of playing with both new rules before the year ends.
Location:
Muntmeesters
Leidsekade 117
Utrecht
Cost:
20 euro's including lunch. 15 if you want to arrange or bring your own lunch. Please let us know during registration what you prefer.
Note on drinks:
We’ll have free coffee and tea in the morning but won’t have other drinks for sale at the venue. We advise participants to bring their own or get them at the supermarket around the corner during the lunchbreak. There is a fridge though!
Timetable: This time we need to leave the location strictly at 18:00 and we planned some extra time per game to adapt to the new rules. Therefore we’re starting a little earlyer and require you to send in your rosters before the 17th of december for a smooth day which will probably turn out be chaotic anyway.
Saturday 20-12-2025
9:00 Door opens followed by registration
9:30 - 12:00 Game 1
12:00 - 12:30 Lunch
12:30 - 15:00 Game 2
15:30 - 17:30 Game 3
Scoring:
W40/D20/L0 + max 2 for each TD made and max 2 for each Cas made + 2 for proper defence (0 TD’s against).
For example winning 3-0 with 1-0 in casualties will earn you 40 (win) +2 (TD's) +1 (Cas) +2 (0 TD's against) = 45 pts
Registration:
Please register before the 17th of december by sending an e-mail to e.vandervelde@gmail.com. And send in your roster and payment (we will send a payment request) before the 17th of december. Registration from the 5th of december will only be accepted in even pairs. So e.g. if you’re the 15th registering coach registering after the 5th of december, you will first be placed on a waiting list until there is also a 16th registered coach to even out the numbers.
Tiebreakers:
Legal roster and payment submitted before deadline -> Opp score - > net TD + net Cas - > dice-off, best of 5.
Team Building:
This tournament will use the latest version of the EuroBowl 2026 LIVING RULESET. Currently they are at v0.1 as shared in the PDF. In case you have submitted your roster before this date and there's a change we will contact you.
Pairing:
Swiss pairing after a random first round.
Resurrection: This is a resurrection tournament, no SPP are gained, and injuries, casualties or deaths do not carry on from one game to the next. Players added to a Team roster mid game as a result of the Masters of Undeath or Plague Ridden special rule are removed from the roster at the end of the game and do not carry on to the next game.
Timeschedule:
Both coaches are responsible to finish their game within 2:30 (a chess clock can help). When the round ends before your game is over, you and your opponent will have to agree on an outcome or the organization will do so for you.
New Edition - Referee help:
The new edition is new to all of us and also to the organizers. As a participant you can not expect the organizers of this tournament to have full and exact knowledge of the complete new rules. In case you and your opponent have a disagreement about the rules, don’t turn up to a referee and ask: “How does this or that work?”. Instead look up the rule in the rulebook yourself and state: “based on this line in the rulebook my view is this”. While your opponent can state: “based on this other line in the rulebook my view is this”. Then both can come to the referee pointing to those lines and then the referee can make the best decision.
New Edition - Prone/Stunned:
We are still adapting to the new rules, of which one is suggested that prone/stunned players not being placed down. If one or both coaches prefers that prone/stunned models are layed down on their back/front as used in previous editions, then this must be followed for both coaches. Only in case of a rare large or fragile miniature (e.g. a big guy) you can place your miniature off the pitch and place a prone/stunned token instead.
New Edition - Tokens/markers:
Bring tokens to mark players being distracted, eye gouged, etc.
New Edition - Rulebook:
Bring the new rulebook and optionally star player cards.
New Edition - Errata/FAQ:
We're awaiting a clarification on certain rules. Hopefully there will be an Errata/FAQ by GW or the NAF. In case not and certain rules are debatable, we'll stick as close as possible to the exact wording of the rules.
Proxies & Unpainted teams:
Proxies are not allowed. Your miniatures should resemble what they are supposed to be. If it looks like a goblin, it should be one. Positionals should be easily recognizable. If in doubt about what you are planning to bring please contact beforehand. When you play with a team that is not fully painted your opponent gains 3 free dedicated fans.
Pitch & Dice:
Please bring a pitch and dice. Please use dice that can be easily read from a distance. You must always let your opponent roll with your dice if he wishes to do so. Agree on what is a cocked dice with your opponent before the game starts. We recommend to use a dice cup/tower to avoid this problem all together.
Good Habits / Bad Habits:
Please be aware The NAF has a good-habits-guide. If you're not aware please read it once. It will help you and your opponent to prevent nasty situations during your games: https://www.thenaf.net/about-the-naf/good-habits-guide
Probability calculators:
Coaches are not allowed any apps or devices to calculate chances during their game.
